Not a work environment I’d recommend
Pros
- Some wonderful, sweet, and interesting individuals who made my overall experience more enjoyable. - The company encouraged open communication at all levels, from junior to senior employees. The CEO's willingness to acknowledge and engage with employees at any level was a positive aspect of the workplace culture. - The company fostered an environment that promoted innovation and autonomy.
Cons
- I felt there was a real lack of adequate support/training - this seemed to be a company-wide issue. - Communication was often unclear - some information was assumed to be known without being explicitly communicated, which made it very challenging to perform tasks optimally. - I encountered a team culture that, at times, felt fear-driven, leading to hesitation in seeking support from certain individuals. - I noticed that some employees struggled with maintaining a healthy work/life balance, which inadvertently impacted the expectations for others. A better balance could have been encouraged across the organisation. - There were opportunities for the company to enhance its appreciation of some employees' efforts through more regular recognition and praise. Those on my team in particular received very little praise for their hard work but constant criticism. - I observed a lack of diversity within the organization, and it would have been beneficial to see more efforts in promoting inclusivity and diversity. I felt HR were making attempts to do such without consulting experts, rendering their efforts futile.
