Pros

The best part about working at Insightly was the team. But now 90% of the folks I worked with on the sales team last year have left for good reason.

Cons

Not sure where to begin. Senior leadership love to dangle the carrot in terms of promotion path and they only promote their favorites regardless of how well you are performing. I was a top performer and was told multiple times I'd get promoted and never was. Once I was told all I needed to do was hit my number in January & I'd be promoted. I BARELY missed after being out for a whole week with the flu and senior leadership still said I didn't do enough, even though I was consistently a top performer for over a year prior - sourcing their largest deal to date, and being their only outbound rep. Since then, almost the entire SDR team has left and gotten jobs as Account Executives at other companies without a problem. Secondly, there have been MANY complaints about the CEO's attitude and actions toward employees, yet HR hasn't budged. And these accusations are serious ones. You simply cannot trust anyone in senior leadership and I truly question if folks ever actually had my back or were just playing politics. And lastly, Insightly has hit a wall in terms of growth. The engineering team keeps tacking on applications / extensions of the current platform and it's only complicating things.

Pros

* Sub par perks relative to many SF startups. Office snacks, lunch catered on Fridays only, a clipper card. * I've met a handful of strong individual contributors here that I'd recommend and love to work with again at any other future company.

Cons

* Marketing is revolving door. We have had 4 Product Marketing Managers in the last 3 years. No one seems to wants to work for the CMO after a while. * Sales numbers have been flat quarter-over-quarter. No real growth. The previous generation of sales persons were the best and they have left having seen the ground reality. New hires in their place are unable to make it and the problem is made worse by a lack of training, sub-par leads and poor go-to-market execution. * All product decisions are just based on the whims of the CEO. The voice product offering has been an abject failure that the company spent 2 years building but no one cares about today. * All employees must maintain a fake sense of positivity. If you express areas of growth to your managers, you will be considered a "displeased, bad apple" and the next target to be asked to leave. On rare occasions your feedback is requested but immediately dismissed as being "not experienced enough to provide commentary". * Compensation and perks are below that of other companies in San Francisco. Jobseekers - Don't make a move to Insightly out of desperation. Continue interviewing and take a job elsewhere. Or you will join the many others here who have one foot out the door.
