Pros

There are no pro's here

Cons

The majority of the management is moody and not approachable or just plain nasty!!! There is a lot of back-stabbing that goes on which makes things very difficult. The employees hear nothing but negatives from management and management s "open door policy" is a joke. The employees get no respect!!

Cons

Three things (among others) immediately come to mind when I think about my time at Inteplast Group: senior management, company culture, computer system... Inteplast was not a great company to work at. While it did provide a low salary and benefits, nothing else was great... The company's management are mostly older people from Asia with an "old-school" mentality on management. Verbal harassment was a common occurrence and it is tolerated! I have never before seen managers so obsessed with petty matters. I have seen arguments involving managers become personal which is absolutely unprofessional. People are not going to speak up about being treated unfairly because nothing will be done about it. Communication across cultures is nothing new, and the management at Inteplast are no experts at communication. Poor communication at this company is a problem. With the company's structure, there is absolutely no room for advancement. This may be a factor in the company's high turnover. Job training is informal and not sufficient. You basically learn by doing the work yourself. A big flaw is that the company's work itself is unique. It felt like Inteplast developed all of its work procedures internally. Even the small menial tasks have a standard operating procedure! All work done in this company is "customized" for the company, and oftentimes the way the work is performed is not logical. The company's Enterprise Resource Planning system is an outdated, and inefficient legacy system. It is poorly designed and seemingly was not designed for modern-day operations. All data is manually entered. Errors in manual data entry oftentimes cannot be undone. The system is filled with widespread programming errors than oftentimes result in data being changed (from what was originally entered), data being placed in wrong locations, and data being left out from executed searches. These are just some examples of the system problems. The result is arguments and meetings across departments on what data is correct, and how much additional work is needed to solve the problem. Given the high level of interdependence across all departments in Inteplast, and the unreliable system, oftentimes you must do additional paperwork and data entry to work around the system's programming errors. Given that this is a common occurrence, you just accept the fact that this "additional work" is now your regular work. One small error in your paperwork or data entered into the computer system may set you back an entire day, sometimes even an entire month. I have seen months of data been withheld because of small errors. How can reports be accurate if data has to be withheld due to an error?? Bottom line: Consider yourself warned…stay for the paycheck, but don't stay too long
