Pros

- Kombucha on tap? - New senior hires that listen

Cons

- All those 5-star reviews you see... those people are all gone because they were SDRs. The management team cut them all because no one was looking at the amount of revenue. 20+ SDRs and only a few contracts per month is a disaster. - Upper management (CEO, COO) do not communicate with anyone. Don't listen to their new senior hires or will get involved in the last minute and change the plan. They don't have past experience running a company and it shows. - The Chinatown location is HORRIBLE. There are people shooting up right outside the front door and there are human feces you need to watch for so you don't step into it. - They hire a lot of family who are given preferential treatment. - The office is really dirty - There is ZERO opportunity for promotions - Compensation is really low

Don't let the other reviews fool you

Pros

Foosball, beer, fun people to work with, company events

Cons

The company promotes people based on favouritism. The only way to succeed is to suck up to management. The company pays less than average and offers terrible benefits yet spends their money on building a bar so they can party after work. Women are not treated the same as men in this company at all, so unless you want to be a part of the boys club don't work here. Tons of false promises to string you along and keep you working there even though they'll never follow through. Management can't seem to make up their mind about anything.

We're proud that our reviews on Glassdoor have been overwhelmingly positive and I'm sorry that your time here at EasyMarkit left you with such a negative opinion! We've been growing quickly and with that sometimes comes growing pains, but we're doing our best to always improve our employee experience. This year we're reviewing our compensation and benefits programs, improving our performance management and promotion tracks and improving our training programs. Over the past few months we've added 3 women into leadership positions and we're actively working to increase our diversity at all levels. If there are any specific experiences that you'd like to share with us so that we can improve I encourage you to reach out directly. Thank you for your feedback and best of luck in your next adventure.

Pros

I could list company events, free snacks and beer but I feel like that is their way to distract you from the fact that there is very little that you can achieve whilst in this position. The Employees here are warm and welcoming but don’t let that fool you when you turn your back to them. I also enjoy the free transit passes that the company offers and 15 minute smoke breaks.

Cons

Feels like management gives up on you too quickly and aren’t afraid to let you go, especially if you aren’t one of their favourites or are a visible minority. But don’t get me wrong here, they love their tech guys/gals. I’ve seen many people dismissed from their job and weren’t allow to say farewell to their colleagues because it is “distracting”. The warm welcoming feeling of being a part of the Easymarkit family automatically disappears. This is funny because people can go on 15 minute smoke breaks when they please but cannot even spend a minute to say their last farewells.
