Pros

Company gets involved in community service events. Health benefits cost $1 per month for an employee and there is a 401(k) match.

Cons

Employees are encouraged to carry out the “7 C’s” of JWL culture (i.e. character, communication, chemistry...), however employees at the top fail every single day to exemplify them, which trickles down the chain of command. There is nepotism, judgment, gossip and unprofessionalism from senior leadership and Human Resources. Some individuals are unwilling to change or listen and instead insist on being controlling. Someone’s private information which should really stay confidential will likely get into the hands of many other people, so don’t bother talking about your personal life at work. I specifically had to eat last at events after everyone got their food and was seated, including the CEO (sometimes not allowed to eat at all), and was told it’s “just an unspoken rule.” I asked HR for help addressing a problem I faced and they told me “You just can’t let things like this bother you.” I know of several other employees who were also written off when they went to HR for help on an issue or had a complaint. My boss never advocated for me because it was more important that she remain a favorite among leadership. She was a poor manager as she was bossy and showed no real leadership skills. I feel like she never had any intent to help me become a better employee or help me learn/grow but instead just enjoyed bossing me around. I also never had a performance review, which was supposed to happen 90 days into employment. Some individuals are micro-managers and control freaks -- I was corrected down to the way I put a piece of paper in an envelope. Once I was taking notes in a meeting for my future reference and was told to “stop writing and just listen.” Got many work calls, texts and emails on weekends and after hours. Was once asked if I can show up to work an event on a Sunday just hours before it started. Things were quite disorganized and some individuals have little regard for others. They’ll try to sell you on the culture, but they don’t uphold what they claim to. Overall a bad experience with a poor work-life balance.

Pros

Knowledge you gain, people you encounter, growing company, flexible schedule, networking opportunities, individual growth if you can just remained focused not subjecting yourself to the negativity that consumes the dock. Good benefits. Okay pay

Cons

Management discloses confidential information with anyone. It's a good company just bad management that hires nothing but their family members and friends creating a bias and toxic work environment. Maybe hire 1-2 people that are not related to camouflage conflict of interest.

Pros

They are growing. that's it.

Cons

Company is about 2 years old. Very unorganized, no systems or procedures in place. No training. Poor leadership. They operate on a very tight budget (shoestring). Plan on working 70 hours a week. I rate them a zero across the board.
