You can have years of experience managing a company, that doesn't make you a good leader.
I was deeply disappointed by the board of directors at Jobtracks. Every few years, the CEO seems to decide it's time to make working there a living hell. If you happen to be one of his targets, know that there's no solution—you’re on your own.
* Recruiters aren’t given the proper tools to succeed because the budget is being burned on a useless system. Meanwhile, you're still expected to deliver top results while scraping the bottom of the barrel. The treatment I experienced from the CEO was unlike anything I’ve ever encountered, 2-3 hours-long meetings filled with belittling, threats, and relentless micromanagement. Tasks are dictated entirely by his whims, regardless of their effectiveness. You're expected to accept this treatment simply because “he’s the boss.”
* They’re comfortable firing employees at 4 PM on a Friday with no notice, but if you resign without two weeks, is the end of the world and you are unprofessional.
* No work-life balance - depends on your role.
* No benefits
* No sick days, and very few PTO
