Pros

Variety of project types from Hospitality, Urban Design, High- Rise, and commercial all done at high level of design. Nice model shop and nice office.

Cons

The two principals control all design decisions for every project. The firm exists as function of the principal's narcissism. This means: no real room for advancement, no design responsibility, and that welfare of the employees is not a concern. You will not learn transferable skills at this company. The firm is extremely top heavy with most managers having worked at the office for more than 20 years. There are very few people who worked between 5 to 20 years due to high rate of turnover.

Pros

Portos on Wednesdays and bagels on fridays, open office, hi-tech support, Can't think of more pros, but I have to type 20 words.

Cons

High turnovers, Top heavy hierarchy, poor management, not willing to listen to any comments from "junior" staffs, lack of creativity in architectural design, no teamwork at all, no mentorship from the seniors, outdoor parking, unflexible working hour and lunch hour, very little or no opportunity for promotion, not much of opportunity that the project will be built.

Pros

quality of design work; variety of projects from skyscrapers to residential, hospitality, educational, office buildings; planning department is very strong; social environment is great; good design support (ie. model making and computer graphics); nice office environment (the studio is a converted car dealership so a very large open space); good reprographic machines; full medical benefits; matching 401k; offers yearly educational allowance

Cons

tremendous turn-over ratio; risk of getting laid off (downward turns occur every 5 years and the firm looses 80% of it's workforce); not enough design responsibility for all levels of employees (design responsibility only occurs at the very top); furthermore decision making only occurs at the very top (principals and above); self-centered firm
