Pros

Culture that's fun and high performing and inclusive. Lots of room for everybody to show leadership and take initiative without a lot of barriers. Smart people everywhere. A business model that is great for people and the world.

Cons

Not for people who need lots of structure.

Pros

Working at Joymode is super refreshing and freeing for an engineer. You can have a huge impact. Here are some of the highlights: - Lots of interesting problems to solve - People are open to different solutions - Can push to master multiple times a day. - Can work in either DTLA or Culver City. Healthy attitude towards working from home - Some teams try to have 2 day per week without any meetings

Cons

Because the company is young, it's a little bit of the wild wild west in terms of process. However, this can be amazing for the right engineer. It depends on what you are looking for. Lots of problems means lots of room for solutions! If you like a less process driven culture you can have a huge impact.

Inside Joymode

Pros

Overall an excellent workplace. If you want to work with smart, engaging and nice people, this is a place for you. What I love about Joymode, is how closely our teams work together. All parts of the company, from delivery drivers to leadership, are involved in making Joymode a successful company. The Head of People Operations is approachable and wants her employees to learn as much as they can. This is done through employee training and opportunities for professional development outside the workplace. The employees at Joymode are some of the brightest people I have worked with. They are professional as well. It's tough to find a balance between fun and professionalism, but I think Joymode is hitting the nail on the head with both.

Cons

There are not many downsides to working for Joymode. In any start up that is customer based, there will be some expectation to work outside of "9-5" hours, but Joymode leadership is very open about maintaining work/life boundaries. It is all about communicating information to managers and leaders.
