      Work-from-home benefit overshadowed by poor management

      Pros

      You work from the building you live in so you save on the commute /gas

      Cons

      Everything else. Unprofessional, unresponsive, no one has a clue about anything. They make costly mistakes and then blame you for it. They don’t train you or help you succeed.

      They pay your rent (or a portion)

      Cons

      Chaotic management, incompetent supervisors, the company cutting costs means you have to be the one to actually face the angry tenants, and frequent, arbitrary firings. The company has probably tripled its portfolio in recent years and simply cannot keep up with all the properties they have acquired.

      Pros

      Great company, great people, excellent work culture. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend KBC as an employer. Right from Karen, the owner down to the building managers and painters and maintenance tech's in the field, everyone is very conscientious and hard working. KBC maintains a high occupancy rate by taking good care of their buildings. This means they don't do slap and dash work. While work needs to be done in a timely manner, they don't grind their people like a lot of commercial or residential painting contractors do. If you're an experienced painter or handy person, I think KBC is a great gig.

      Cons

      Not really a con but you need to be something of a self starter as you often have to fulfill work orders without direct supervision. Helps to have some tools and/ or painting gear. Own vehicle a must.
