Pros

The people at KOHO are some of the brightest, most committed and kindest folks I have ever worked with. It really feels like we are all in this together You can actively see how your work contributes to the growth of the business, which is super motivating Great career growth with the ability to stretch your skillset into areas that interest you Fantastic coaching programme. I have personally benefited from our in-house coaches.

Cons

Things move very quickly and it can be disheartening when projects you have put time into get deprioritized, but sometimes that's just start-up life! There can be a tendency for leadership to micro-manage timelines and projects and a lot of time is spent preparing internal documents

Pros

Great mission, fast paced and tons of opportunity for growth. Tons of smart people to learn from as well. Remote first yet lots of collaboration and culture.

Cons

Org moves very fast, need to be comfortable with change and shifting priorities.

The mission isn't just talk

Pros

KOHO is one of those rare places where the mission actually means something. We're genuinely trying to make financial products better for Canadians who've been underserved by the big banks — and that shows up in how decisions get made, not just in a slide deck somewhere. I've had real room to grow here. The kind of growth that comes from being trusted with meaningful work, not just handed a title. If you're someone who wants to own things and build something that matters, there's a lot of opportunity to do that. Not a company for people who want to coast — but if you like being challenged and care about the impact of what you're working on, it's a pretty great place to be.

Cons

Fast-paced by design; not for everyone
