Cons

Salary is lower compared to similar colleges and schools in the area Many of the managers and Leaders are incompetent and not fit for the job and yet they are entrenched in the college Strict and toxic workplace at times with zero flexibility Not much room for growth

Pros

They provide a decent salary although with every new teacher they hire the offers are becoming lower and lower. Paid on time

Cons

The Changsha Center provides inadequate housing on school grounds while the Chinese staff all live off campus in more suitable housing. They might give you a very small housing allowance to live off campus but you will need additional funds if you want to live in something resembling Western standards. The Chinese staff is not qualified to work in an educational setting. They have no background or experience in education and are simply in the center for small administrative tasks (which they can handle). The center has been poorly managed for the past 5 years which has resulted in the center recruiting anyone willing to pay the tuition. This has led to a sharp decrease in quality students, in other words this is English immersion program but 75% of the students admitted do not have the English proficiency to understand the lectures and can barely write at a 2nd grade level. The Chinese staff also have a dishonesty problem. They lie to the parents to get them to pay the tuition, lie to the kids and lie to and about the foreign staff. The foreign staff are all highly qualified for their positions but only so much can be done when faced with students and staff that are not qualified to be either a student or staff member. The teacher's are blamed for the students poor performance when it is shown week in and week out that homework is not done and student behavior is not corrected or disciplined.
