Pros

Some really lovely, intelligent, talented women here. They’ve all left now.

Cons

The bad reviews from folks who’ve left sum kong up. this place will destroy your headspace - x10 if you’re a female employee. Harassment and bullying, boys club. I’m writing to warn others to think twice about joining, but too tired by my awful experience to go into more detail. Read the bad reviews covered up by a boat load of suspiciously good ones to get a more accurate idea of the kind of folk who lead here. I will say that if you’re a dude who likes showing off a Rolex you’ll fit right in, so ignore this review if that’s you.

I am very sorry you had a negative experience at Kong. We absolutely do not tolerate abuse. We have some amazing women leaders at Kong such as the Chief Marketing Officer, the Chief People Officer and the VP of Design. While there can be more representation of women across all functions, the sentiments from our women employees in our latest engagement survey has been positive. Every company has to address challenges in culture and as a fast growth company, we do too. We work on issues promptly. I wish you all the best in your career!

Pros

gathering the courage to quit was the highlight of my tenure

Cons

honestly, everything that could be terrible about a company, is terrible here. from experiencing no free time, no respect, no down time, no strategic thinking, no united leadership, constant (i can't stress this enough) internal politics getting in the way of people just wanting to do their jobs and go home, no sensible decision making, improper investments, vanity hiring, and no empathy, to more sinister downsides like witnessing bullying, harassment, and institutionalised sexism amongst other, more terrible, things that will inevitably come back to haunt this already haunted place. i chose unemployment instead of spending a second longer here

The anonymity of Glassdoor reviews allows people to make a variety of claims, express opinions and make recommendations about the company they were previously or are currently affiliated with. We respect the forum and continuously learn from the comments within. That said, this review contains factual inaccuracies and unsubstantiated claims of improper behavior by management. As a former employee, you are aware that Kong has a zero tolerance policy for bullying and harassment and that there are many channels available to surface concerns. All claims are investigated thoroughly and addressed appropriately by our Global HR and Legal teams, whose jobs are to ensure that Kong is abiding by local laws and making Kong a place where people can do their best work. Rather than an anonymous post, I encourage you to reach out to the HR or Legal team directly, so that you can air your grievances in a forum that enables us to investigate. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we apologize for any perceived challenges you had while working with us. We take all feedback written within seriously, and with an eye towards our continued improvement. It sounds like you made the right decision for you, and we wish you success in all of your future endeavors.

This is Kong’s VP People responding. Thank you for your post. I’m really sorry to hear that your experience at Kong was negative. Bullying is a serious concern and my expectation is that you raised your concerns through one of the many channels that Kong has available to surface such issues. We do perform anonymous surveys. In addition, we have an active Global HR Business Partner and Legal team who help ensure that Kong is abiding by local laws and working with Kongers to improve leadership execution across the company. Our most recent employee survey focused on overall engagement and DE&I (diversity, equity & inclusion). Our eNPS score was 43, with 78% participation. While a good result, we always strive to do better.
