      Not A Loyal Employer

      Pros

      Competitive salary to start. Mostly a yearly raise although in 2012 we were not given a raise but instead a sob story as the company opened a new location in Virginia.

      Cons

      No benefits unless you can maintain 40hrs a week which is impossible as a school bus driver. The company has a horrible culture of employees anonymously reporting one another. During the summer months we were encouraged to file for unemployed as there is no paid time off whatsoever but once you are no longer employed by them they will fight your unemployment benefits. I received anti-union emails the entire summer. They love making examples of employees as a scare tactic.

      Pros

      Many down-to-earth, hard working employees. Many dedicated drivers who truly love their riders and their work. Great vehicle maintenance people - that's the one department that has their stuff together. Good people at Rover. Coach-transit is a complete joke on the inside.

      Cons

      If you're not family, you're nothing. Management full of posers and brown-nosers. Family completely out of touch with the average working person. Benefits are horrible - lousy coverage and extremely high rates even for FT employees. Owners say they care but their actions are contrary. The whole family is stuck working there... and it shows. Everyone else is too scared to complain. The management team all in-fight like little children and behave themselves only when a Krapf is in the room.

      NEARLY A Perfectly-Named Company

      Pros

      -Co-workers are generally decent. -Had a holiday party once...in the bus maintenance garage. -Office location strategically placed far away from human civilization so as to avoid noise.

      Cons

      -2nd-generation owner is a tragic mess of a human life. Zero understanding of how to lead and what his employees actually do. Aloof and abrasive. -Salary. -Hiring/firing practices are borderline illegal. -Hilariously impractical and inefficient business model.
