I have been working at Lazada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    #Great learning opportunities
#Energetic & Dynamic work colleagues- often extremely smart
    #Nice office
    #Fast-paced

    Cons

Some extremely ego-centric senior people managers, hugely male-dominated environment at the top with people often being rude & highly aggressive

please have a forum where people can voice or talk about their managers and give feedback on a regular basis- without fear that their managers might fire them anyday..

    Advice to Management

#Hire more smart women & less men with massive egos
#To have more anonymous feedback channels

I worked at Lazada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are SOME great employees here who are extremely talented and hard working.
Employees in general are all extremely hard working and passionate

    Cons

Do not trust C level employees of the company. They are artists at manipulation and short term gain.
Having worked for many companies over 12years this company has the most toxic working environment and most short sighted vision I've come across.
The company will work you to the bone and as soon as you show any sign of falling below 120% for a second you will be seen as a weakness with a view for you to leave. This business mentality is a ruthless one so make sure you get the appropriate compensation should you want to work for them.

I think this will change in 1 to 2yrs once the rocket internet culture and hitmen squad have washed away while Lazada brings in its own identity. Until then I'd stay clear.

    Advice to Management

No point giving advice. They listen to their own ego only.

I have been working at Lazada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management is aware of the abysmal Glasdoor ratings: the new CEO himself asked the whole company in a town hall to come leave positive reviews. We may overtake FoxConn anytime soon.

    Cons

Management solution for bad Glasdoor reviews is to blame disgruntled employees for them and ask the happy campers to come here and praise the new administration. Take all positive comments from Aug 27 onwards with a pinch of salt.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge (and clean) the existing leadership problems in HR, countries and CEO. Listen to the experienced employees. Define a solid strategy, stop favouritism, be self-reflecting and maybe after that the ratings will improve organically.

    # fun environment
    # huge chance to get carrier path (many chance to try working in other department)

    Cons

    Advice to Management

No need to reorg like twice a year. You just make people confused and demotivated.

I have been working at Lazada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can admit, it has been a very bumpy ride. Working with so many people. Moving from local team to regional team. Seeing so many newbies becoming professionals. Experiencing managers who sacrifice their own staff to survive in the company at expense of others.

What I find very upsetting is that majority of company problems come from its own leadership, not competition. I have never seen or imagined that so many high level profiles getting fired or booted, and not just during restructuring, it has been like from the beginning. And all of that for a reason. Company was founded from the foreign capital and nobody from leadership cared about making right decisions, they only cared about their own well being.

It really feels like internal conflict is the biggest obstruction on the way of success.

Also it is hard to give a fair judgement for all 4 years, as some years were very bad and some were good. I would give 3 starts, because right now company has new leadership, with old leaders are moving away. Let's hope this will be a positive change.

You have everything you need to learn e-commerce:
Freedom to do a good job or a "bad job"
Freedom from your line manager, because he doesn’t care if you do good or bad.
Access to metrics and data you need to develop yourself into professional.
You can meet talented experts and occasionally amazing managers.

    Cons

Politics surround you from the first day: local versus regional, sales versus operations versus, us versus them.
Nobody cares about your achievements: if you expect to be recognized or promoted, well you will never get any recognition and to get promotion you have to be reporting to an experienced manager in the first place.
Working day and night: it is not just overtimes, it is work on the weekends too.
Keep your passion in check: I have never seen so many people burn out anywhere else.
Do not rely on trust: you can get fired by your manager, just because he or she doesn’t like you.

    Advice to Management

I don’t want to advise anything to management, because they will never read it. But I have a great faith in the new CEO. He has been leading group operations from the beginning and has a list of achievements long enough to eclipse any other senior manager of Lazada.

I worked at Lazada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

nothing to say greatly as the internal team everyone aware that it is stressful place to work

    Cons

rushing, sudden decisions, always make U-turns and client relationships always at stake. more importantly, stress is everywhere. High turnover and lack of transparency

    Advice to Management

none cuz nothing will be bothered since they dont really want advise.
