Toxic Work Environment with Poor Leadership and Zero Support

Pros

Remote work. Some of your co-workers are fun to work with.

Cons

I've never been at a company with such a high turnover rate—it's nearly impossible to produce quality work when employees are constantly being fired or let go. Despite claims of hiring "A" players, the reality is far from it. There’s a complete lack of trust in employees, with constant screen monitoring throughout the day. To make matters worse, every Friday you're required to join a 4-5pm call to give forced compliments to teammates, even though it's clear no one wants to be there. It's a waste of time that could be better spent actually working, they just want to check and make sure you are working until 5pm on Fridays.

Horrible and Toxic Leadership

Pros

You grow really fast as a marketer. I was able to build my resume with a bunch of good MarTech and it helped lead me to much better things.

Cons

Where do I even start? First, there is no respect from the CEO. She is way too involved in the day-to-day, tracking our work with screenshots and digging in to personal messages. Next, no fair bonuses. The only appreciation you get for a job well done is a “bright spot” on Friday, a meeting at the end of the week that nobody wants to be on. Trust me, they have the money to bonus people, but the CEO and her husband, the COO, would rather use it to buy a new house and go on vacations. My only motivation to work was to not get yelled at in front of everyone. Third, pay is all over the place and unfair. People in my same role, less time with the company, and same amount of professional experience, are paid 50% more than me. Not an exaggeration. Finally, the leadership team doesn’t care about the employees that get the work done. “Everyone is replaceable.”
