Pros

Very laid back and friendly. Everyone seems to get only with each other.

Cons

I was at Legion Logistics for 5 months and decided to take on a new position Legion created called the House Account. I stepped up and worked my butt of to try and build this House Account, which were filled with customers Legion stopped working with from the past. Whether it was low margins on profit, or the customer did not have freight, whatever the case may be. They gave me two months to work this "Great Opportunity Account." I would put anywhere from 50-125 outbound calls a day on top of the 50+ emails I would send a day to try to gain business are these accounts. Shortly after finding out that it was going nowhere I went to my own method and trying to get completely new business. When I finally was gaining ground they brought me in and told me they were getting rid of the House Account and they did not have any other positions open for me. Which was false, they were looking for a night shift person, who the just fired before me. Shortly after I left, I found out that they had to fire 9 more people because they had a first quarter. Some of the people were there since they have started. They are supportive and kind to your face, however if you are not a top broker or someone in the middle that is consistently bringing in good amount of money in each week, you're gone. I had 2 MONTHS to make this House Account to work. Anyone that as ever done sales knows that is not enough time to do anything. Shortly after I left after being fired I had upwards of 10 sales/brokers text me saying and asking how they could let me go! That I was a hard worker and was doing everything I was supposed to do to succeed.

Pros

Nothing about this place is good

Cons

If you are looking for a super unstable company to work for, your should apply to Legion. Here, termination is based on personal opinions. If the owners really like you, they will fight to keep you. If they don't, well you mean nothing and your time is limited. This company is super unprofessional. It is one thing to want to be friendly with your employees, but another thing entirely to be inappropriate with your employees. No one cares about your personal life! The owners, well one in particular, doesn't seem to understand the line between employer and employee and often treads on thin ice with staff making things super uncomfortable for all parties.

Legion Logistics Response
9y
(Response written by Lacy Starling, President of Legion Logistics.) I am really sorry that this poster felt that nothing about Legion was good in the time they worked here. That is disappointing, for sure. But I'd like to address some of their specific allegations. First, Legion is not unstable. We've been in business seven years, in the same industry, in the same location, growing. That's the opposite of unstable. Second, termination is based on a series of escalating reviews and incident reports that follow a path from a verbal coaching to a final written warning. The only exceptions are incidents that are so egregious they result in immediate termination, such as threatening another employee or sexual harassment. That would be the case anywhere. Third, we all discuss our personal lives. We have kids, we talk about our weekends, we discuss holiday and vacation plans. I feel that is pretty normal in a business setting. Some people are definitely weirded out because we have family members who work here together, and because my business partner and I used to be married, but I always say that it's only weird if you make it weird. People might also not be used to having the level of interaction with ownership that they do here, since we sit with them instead of in offices and are made human, rather than being nameless, faceless decision-makers in corner offices. That's just life in a small business. We all know each other and about each other. If that's uncomfortable, a bigger workplace with more employees and hierarchy is probably a better fit. And finally, we aren't going to stop. We're going to keep working, just like we have for the past seven years, to make Legion the best company it can be. That's all we've ever wanted to do.

Pros

You will get good at Glassdoor reviews like the recent positive ones on here that suddenly came up. I can guarantee you they are from the people who just started at Legion this week (since all the veterans have left over the past month - seriously, they have shed over 50% of their senior staff in the last 6 weeks) because the recent TRUE reviews are so horrible. Learn how to balance 19842808234 things at once since job roles and responsibilities are figured out daily and hourly and on the whim of management. Will help you take a good look at your life and your priorities and if this is truly where you want to see yourself and if these are the values you want to espouse.

Cons

Unstable work environment. Innappropriate conduct from management / ownership to staff. Do-as-I-say not do-as-I-do atmosphere. All talk no walk. No long-term vision that is realistic (Legion Vision 2019? Joke). No strategic plan to achieve success. Failing company that hasn't grown in 2 years (don't believe the media notes). Management more concerned with image than creating a dynamic and growing company. No acceptance of responsibility from management for failures of growth and company.
