It's been over a year and I'm still lovin' it at Lever!

Pros

The company still provides a great work-life balance: Flexibility to work from home, there's an onsite gym that I can visit during the day, and management makes it easy for me to take vacation and sick time. Also, my relationships with my coworkers has grown. I really enjoy the people I work with. At some employers my working relationships have grown sour with time, but that is definitely not the case here. As a staff we communicate and work well with each other. Everyone just makes it work, no matter what is going on. We help each other out, too, which makes life so much easier.

Cons

Honestly, I have no cons about my employment at Lever.

Not a great experience

Pros

Hybrid/remote work environment. Insurance premiums are covered.

Cons

The owner is a nice guy, but detached and uninvolved, often putting too much trust into two-faced ego-driven people to run the business and make decisions for him. Most of the employees are overworked and burned out, due to work not being scoped properly with regard to resources, capabilities and budgets. The team that is supposed to be securing new business doesn't know the capabilities of the business well enough to secure new business consistently, so company growth is a big issue, along with client and employee retention. Management is okay continuing to work with clients that treat employees poorly, leading to unnecessary stress and not being unable to do their jobs properly out of fear of losing the client or their job.

Pros

At Lever Interactive you can feel right at home going into work every day. The workplace environment is very positive; There are many company sponsored activities throughout the week that help to break up the monotony and hours are incredibly flexible. The management team communicates with their employees very frequently and there is little room for miscommunication. The employees are friendly and welcomed me in when I first joined, helping to dispell my first-week jitters.

Cons

When I worked at Lever, it was the slow season for advertising, and there was a fair bit of downtime which can get monotonous after some time. However, management recognizes this and sponsors small events/activities to try and combat this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Lever. I cannot express enough how much reading a review like this makes me proud of the organization we have created. We haven't always been perfect, but I know we are creating something special here. Appreciate the advice on the benefits...we too were surprised how many people didn't realize the "true" compensation we provide (no obligation 401k contributions, covering all costs for insurance, etc). We will continue to share those benefits and make sure all are clear. Thanks again, and best of luck!

Pros

There is not a single good thing here except what I learned from my colleagues.

Cons

Management is exactly what others have written. They micromanage, degrade employees not only on calls with clients, but also among other colleagues. It's one of the most unprofessional workplaces you'll ever be in. Management does not pay fairly for work done. Don't do more work than what's required. Management will only take credit for it anyway and undermine your work. Do yourself a favor and get your experience elsewhere. Your career is not management's priority. Insurance costs are absurdly high. Pay is not competitive. Trust the negative reviews.

Pros

There was always fun to be had in the office while people were still working hard and doing their jobs. Also, I had a good experience dealing with our management team as they communicate well and were very approachable. The thing I enjoyed most while I was there was there seemed to be a genuine interest in development which is rare.

Cons

I never really had any in my experience there. They seem to be very cognizant if something negative seemed to be going on and would squash it pretty quickly.

Very Unprofessional Environment!!

Pros

They offer excellent digital marketing training for new employees, making it a great agency to kickstart your career.

Cons

Over time, it becomes evident that the higher-ups show little concern for the efforts and time you invest in your work. There's a lack of appreciation for your contributions, and they seem to focus on minor details to criticize, even during crucial meetings attended by everyone. They talk over you, say that they seek new ideas, but then dismiss them. The management in the paid media team is unfriendly and negative, creating unnecessary stress which makes work very unenjoyable. When expressing concerns about unprofessional communication to HR, there's little action taken, and you're essentially advised to cope with it. The level of micromanagement is intense, however, if that aligns with your preference in a work environment, it might be a fitting place for you.

Pros

Lever Interactive is a great place to work if you're looking to develop your career in digital marketing. Since I've started, I've always felt that I was being heard by senior leadership and new ideas were always welcomed. I've been able to grow personally and professionally from the leaders at the company and have appreciated all of the opportunities offered to me. Frankly, it takes a lot of effort on behalf of the entire team to grow an agency each year and it's not the place to be if you're looking to do the bare minimum or simply punch in and out. For those who are looking to build a career, take their jobs seriously, and provide a different agency experience for their clients, I would strongly recommend Lever.

Cons

As with any company transitioning from small agency to a full-service digital marketing firm, there have been times where Lever hasn't always gotten it right. But each time an issue has occurred, management has used those moments as opportunities to do better and be better.

Pros

Some of the members on the team were welcoming and kind. There are some good people who work there- not in upper management though.

Cons

Upper management lied repeatedly to staff about their remote work policy and changed it several times. Very cliquey environment- mainly on the media team side. If they don’t like you prepare for a death of a thousand paper cuts. They will report you to HR for the most mundane things- including working with disabilities, be rude to you on client and vendor calls and make it impossible to do your job effectively. If you like being micromanaged then definitely come work here. You’ll never get a bonus. Multiple employees who have been there years said that they set unachievable goals for bonuses and in the rare times they were paid out the CEO made it so he wouldn’t get taxed extra- the employee did. Thanks, Chris! Additionally they are losing business left and right because of upper management’s policies and it is only a matter of time before they have to close their business. Beware!!!
