Worst Place I've Ever Worked - All Due to CEO

Pros

Some of the people are great - but a lot of the people who were great to work with have left. Have the opportunity to be at the cusp of a growing industry.

Cons

The CEO needs to go. He is the root of all issues. He is a child, and this is his first job. It's no wonder the company is run like a circus. As a high level, there is proof of the CEO: - Lying to employees - Bullying employees - Sexist behaviour - Almost bankrupting the company - Placing his personal needs above company needs - Forcing people to work after hours or during holidays due to his lack of planning and needing things urgently - Injecting himself into projects unnecessarily, causing longer turnarounds for tasks - Wasting employees' time rushing and working after-hours for tasks just to change his mind - Spending company money trying to fire people who oppose him - Firing people who are vocal about how bad he is (others have just left) - When approached with real feedback, says he will be better, and then not change at all - Engaging vendors and refusing to pay them - Uses the fact that he "used to be a lawyer" as a way to promote himself, meanwhile he was never an actual lawyer - Not doing the proper strategic research to make decisions - In general being very immature when faced with conflict and overcompensating for his lack of work experience by power tripping for using his "legal expertise" as a way to confuse and shut down people I believe the CEO is a psychopath and is not fit to be in this position. It ruins all of our work and morale just having him walk in the room. He brings negative value to the company and boasts his ability to bring in investments should be impressive - however that is his only reason and anyone with business sense can do this task. The CEO's behaviour is notorious in the industry and there have and seems to be multiple legal ramifications for his actions.

Bad management. They are leaving fake reviews

Pros

I love some of the people here and the industry but maybe that's why I've been stupid enough to stay.

Cons

Our management just sent us all an email saying to leave them good reviews on Glassdoor. I don't feel right doing this. The only positive review on Glassdor for Lift was written by management themselves and that's not right. It's so easy to tell they wrote it because nobody in the company feels that way. You wouldn't have to ask your employees to leave goood reviews if you were actually a good company. The way the CEO treats people is also not right. He will lie to your face with a smile, overwork you with fake promises of stock options, sarcastically make you feel dumb and fire you if he doesn't like you. He is one of the worst people I have encountered in work or my personal life. I mostly agree with what other reviewers have wrote.

Feel trapped here

Pros

Some good friends here. Everyone outside of management's inner circle is great! You can work from home some days. Lots of great resturants near the office to eat at during lunch.

Cons

I agree with the other review. Everything is fake. We're all so young and mangement has silly fancy sounding titles without experience. Some of the management do nothing at all but sit around and talk. The C.E.O is completely fake he'll lie to your face and belittle you randomly. If it wasn't Christmas time I'd leave this job. Oh and If you're a women don't work here they won't take you seriously.
