Pros

1. Work from home and flexibility might appeal to some 2. Open source projects almost exclusively with 90% of the work in Linux and Android. Not much other than that 3. Very capable engineers

Cons

1. No career progression. One can be a kernel hacker for 5 years (which some want) but that more and more work with no increase in profile and pay 2. No clear business and service plan. Collaboration is not a correct word its more of service for which members have to join Linaro (like a club) and pay money for the privilege. Some other reviews point to this as well. But this is not sustainable as the recent financial difficulties have proved 4. Mass layoff and reduction recently.

Pros

Highly intelligent engineers Working with open source community

Cons

Poor leadership. Management happily throw money around wastefully No career progression, development. More responsibility is thrust on you but no promotion or payrise given. Numerous occasions US staff are recruited on higher salaries rather than promote staff currently doing the job. Salary is not consistent and unfair Benefits unfair and based on what you negotiated at start. Not great if you believed in no cash flow and have given loyal service

Open Source Engineering

Pros

Collaborative open source engineering for the Arm architecture. Work across multiple industry segments on leading edge open source projects from IoT to Arm Server. Most employees work remotely, with a main office in Cambridge UK. Twice annual company and member meetings in US, Europe or Asia.

Cons

Remote working can be a con for some, others like the freedom. Open source is different from working directly on a product - doesn't suit everyone. No stock options as company is a membership partnership.
