Pros

I worked with a lot of great people at Little Orbit and got to work on cool projects. But the financially unstable vibe had me keeping one foot out the door. Thankfully I and a few others were prepared during the recent layoff.

Cons

Freelance and outsource don't get paid or get paid late. It’s understaffed with many being shuffled around multiple projects. There was always talk of deals getting made that never came through. And this was used as an excuse for recent layoff. Little Orbit was a bargain bin game company and may have done well then. However, attempts at more AA/AAA type games have been a disaster unfortunately. It feels like we were led to believe that there was more funding than there really was. And these types of games cannot be made on a bargain bin budget.

Pros

Not a single one of note.

Cons

Company is slow on payroll at times, gets into large court battles instead of working with outside developers.

Pros

Fully remote. Working on a variety of game tech. Fanatically dedicated game communities. Players have actually made a cult to a spherical object.

Cons

Working on older game tech. This could be a plus for some! Fanatically dedicated game communities.
