analogue company

Pros

you are in charge of your projects and work totally independently. Sometimes you take a beer with your colleagues who live in the same situation of totally "loneliness". You cannot work from home and your job overcome the job time and you cannot use the extra hours for your benefits like permissions, a day off, or pay extra. It's a good place if you are looking for a new experience in an old analog company and you want to work totally alone.

Cons

Constantly you work alone throught a tool where the managers assign tasks and goals to their team. You don't speak with anybody, here doesn't exist meeting or guidelines for each employee. The managers work totally alone without asking for suggestions and have not interested in new ideas or your opinion. The salary is very low for an Austrian job but they are lucky because they exploit interns only for 6 months to assign them tasks like managers and paid miserably; You don't have any chance to grow inside the company and each day is the same. There is a big turnover of unsatisfied employees.

Pros

Department I worked in was nice. The people I worked with on daily basis where very nice.

Cons

Toxic work culture. No work-life balance. Always expected to stay late. Ridiculous amount of short term deadlines and tasks that "must" be finished today. Constant negative feedback. Lack of motivation. Manager always does her best to put you down and make you feel like you are doing inadequate job. Very low salary without raise potential. When asked for raise after 4 years the answer was - this is not company that will pay you (direct quote from manager). After several people leave, responsibilities just keep getting piled on without any increase in salary. Manager doesn't accept any ideas, unless it's her idea. And later criticizes you for not providing enough ideas. You get criticized for not being creative and always doing the same thing, even though you do exactly what manager asks you to do. She's basically describing herself. Exploits interns. They are hired to do full time job and experience all the stress that comes with it for almost no pay.

Pros

Met some of the most creative people ever due to the nature of the work Community/customers are nice, fun, loyal and understanding Because management is a mess, workload is light (at the same time counterproductive)

Cons

No growth (no promotion of upskill) Turnover is high No way to promote its POC employees No salary increase even if you’re a good performer micromanaging Experienced sexism and ageism with one of the managers Isn’t open to employees ideas (if they liked your idea they’ll take credit for it)

Pros

You get to experience lots of different tasks (but you’re not paid for them adequately so this is also a con)

Cons

- Management is terrible - interns get exploited - they expect artists to work with them in exchange for plastic cameras, not money - if someone leaves you take over their responsibilities with no salary increase

Pros

- Local team is amazing. They are some of the most creative and hardworking people I know. - Being surrounded by a creative community is never boring. There's always something to look forward to even when just browsing their website. - Office environment is fun and chill. No dress code. - Work from home setting during the pandemic. - We receive Lomography cameras and freebies yearly. There's also an employee discount.

Cons

- No room to grow. The company doesn't offer training/seminars relevant to your role. - Pay is way below industry standards. No annual reviews/salary increases/ bonuses. - Experienced mansplaining, and micromanaging. - Some bosses from other countries often look down on our team. - Outdated office equipment, even on basic things like tables and chairs. - High attrition rate. Prepare to shoulder more work than what's in your contract without a formal agreement and additional pay. - During the pandemic, we're able to work from home. Provided equipment was already slow and outdated which makes it frustrating. It's better to just buy your own computer.
