Great experience with competitive pay and supportive culture
Pros
I’ve had a genuinely great experience working here. The compensation is competitive (based on the SF market even if you are remote), the work-life balance is phenomenal, and leadership is very transparent (which could be good or bad depending on the news). I believe strongly in the CEO and the direction of the company. The engineering culture is one of the best parts of working here. There are a lot of very smart people and they don't seem to have a chip on their shoulder about it. The team has a strong "no a-holes" hiring philosophy and they’ve done a great job maintaining it as the company grows. People are helpful, respectful, and easy to work with. The company strikes a balance between having startup energy without the constant stress and pressure that usually comes with it. I feel trusted to do my job and manage my time like an adult. As long as the work gets done, there’s flexibility to handle life. Whether that means taking time off, dealing with family emergencies, or even taking a fitness class in the middle of the day. In my experience, and what my friends and family tell me, that level of trust and autonomy is rare. The product itself is genuinely world class. I’ve worked at a similar company before and hated the product (I refused to use an FI that used it). I can honestly say I feel proud of what we've built and make sure to brag about it anytime someone tells me they use one of Lumin's clients. It’s also rewarding to feel like the work I do actually has an impact.
Cons
I have to try hard to find something negative to say, but it's hard to come up with anything. I've worked at other companies where the cons list would trump the pros but it's difficult with Lumin.
