Pros

- Some colleagues are great to learn from, depending on their past experience. - Generous holiday time off schedule.

Cons

My time at MBH often made me question my value, not because of my performance but because of a culture built on cliques, favoritism, and silence. Despite the polished messaging and the slogan “We create careers, not jobs,” the reality was far from it. Promotions often went to those who played into a specific, unspoken mold rather than those who truly excelled. Junior and mid-level staff who didn’t fit that mold were quietly pushed out, their departures either swept under the rug or revealed only when their Slack accounts disappeared. I found out about most people leaving through silence, not transparency. The workplace is also consistently understaffed, leading to burnout and a sense that you’re constantly trying to prove your worth just to stay afloat. Meanwhile, leadership masks instability with empty messaging and impersonal all-staff emails. If you’re looking for a place that values individuality, mentorship, and genuine support, MBH may not be it. But if you’re comfortable navigating a performative culture where appearances matter more than growth, you’ll probably fit right in.

Pros

- The people are genuinely great. Teams are very people-first and often check in on how you’re doing before diving into the work, which created a supportive environment. Colleagues are also extremely smart and come from a wide range of backgrounds, which made collaboration really enriching. - The work itself is impressive. I was exposed to major accounts and meaningful moments in healthcare that significantly shaped my career and experience. - Junior team members are given real opportunities to contribute in big ways, which is great for growth and confidence-building. - Fully remote work and unlimited PTO were big pluses. As with many unlimited PTO policies, usage can depend on team culture and workload.

Cons

- Leadership can feel cliquey, particularly at the senior/ELT level. - While hiring is diverse, there were noticeable patterns of hiring from the same agency. - Internal, agency-wide communication could be inconsistent. Team-to-team communication was generally strong, but broader updates—especially around departures, firings, or layoffs—were not always timely or transparent. - There were moments where favoritism toward certain employees felt noticeable, though in general people still had fair chances to contribute and access opportunities. - Work-life balance can be tough at times given the pace and client demands, but that’s largely true of most agencies and not unique to this company.
