There are much better alternatives for jobs in the hotel industry ~ you should look there
Pros
There are numerous open positions at the hotel and corporate levels for anyone due to turnover frequency much higher than the industry norm.
Cons
The CEO is the only person who is allowed to make a decision which renders eveyone else useless aside from being his puppets. Consistent unethical business practices and lack of ability for the corporate team to perform the jobs they were hired to do puts the hotel teams in a no-win situation. A significant segment of the portfolio (larger than many management companies) has virtually zero access to capital funds for necessary repairs, thus creating miserable conditions for guests and employees at those hotels. Senior leaders refer to everyone below them as coal miners and pawns in the CEO's video game...not actual people with families and lives outside of work. GMs are written up for even 0.1 hours of overtime in a week, even at the detriment of displaced revenue for having to roll rooms and close inventory, but then scrutinized for not achieving revenue targets. Bonus plans for above property corporate staff have zero metrics therefore the CEO decides at his discretion how much if anything is paid in bonus to each person for the prior year...even then it's nearly 6 months after the year is complete and many people he has never even met, yet determines what they receive. Good luck passing a QA inspection since the company has mandates in place that go against brand directives that will result in the loss of significant points outside of your control. The CEO doesn't care and has total animosity toward the brands. If you're on the corporate team, be prepared to work 7 days/week with total disregard for PTO, outside obligations, etc. GMs and the corporate team have endless reporting, formstack submissions, and manual data entry far beyond what you'll find at other management companies. If you're between jobs or just need a paycheck until you find a good job, this can be a stop-gap but certainly not a long term role unless you're content with not having opinions, disregarding your ethics, and being solely reliant on others to tell you what to do, when, and how with complete disregard for the skill set that enabled you to get the job in the first place. Senior leadership publicly states that "we're not for everyone" and doesn't bat an eye as highly skilled talent leaves the company while they simply promote underqualified talent to fill the roles with no guidance or direction from the underqualified and submissive betas known as senior leadership.
