Interns are not paid at all, they do the groceries every day, going out with the car to pick up something, they cook the lunch for the employees and barely design. The salary is not that amazing, extra hours not paid, A lot of Creative Directors around, and each one has a different vision, and want to work/give advice in almost every project they see. They use to offer a present when someone is leaving, although if you were working there for a long period (> than 1 1/2 year) you receive a one minute sculpture by Marcel Wanders, and there were people than just been there doing a internship of 3 months and receive it with a lot of smiles and applauses from the management team, and in the other hand there were people working there for more than a year and just received a book. This creates a tension that is easily visible, and an unbalance rule that the management team is responsible for. And if they act with "preferences" with a simple goodbye present for sure they will act unbalance for other important issues, depending the people. And there are people there that just want to feed their ego, and other that act slightly "fake" i would say around the management team in order to step up in the carreer.
