Pros

An extremely diverse and dynamic workplace. Amazing work ethics and sense of commitment of my coworkers make me want to perform better and to strive to do more. Understanding and encouraging management. It feels more like a family rather than a place of work but I also appreciate the global mindset of MasterWord Services: acting locally, thinking globally, connecting the world one person and business at a time.

Cons

Can we have more time in a day please? :)

Pros

There's diversity to some extent within the employees in house. People of color aren't really welcome but if you're Russian you're guaranteed a job no matter how unqualified you are because the owner/president is Russian and clearly racist. She once barged into one of our departments asking one of our Spanish speaking coordinators if anyone in her family was looking for a job because she needed a Mexican to come clean her house.

Cons

Where do I even begin? They lie to you during your interview for one. They'll tell you there's room for growth but no matter how much you show it you will be stuck in the same position. Or if anything you might switch titles, they refer to it as a "Lateral Move" meaning more responsibility but no increase in pay. Because they are open 24/7 they expect you to eventually work on call. So after you've worked your 9 hr shift you might have to go home, take a laptop and phone with you and answer calls that come in throughout the night. Then come back to work the next day sleep deprived and work another 9 hr shift. AND NO OVER TIME PAY FOR THOSE HOURS. Since I've been with the company at least 3 people in the translation department quit within 1 month! That should raise a red flag MasterWord! The interpretation department sent unqualified interpreters to jobs. The only reason I'm still here is because UNFORTUNATELY it's a necessity for me to work not a luxury. As far as the rest of my coworkers, they're uneducated and/or have no future therefore don't have a choice but to be taken advantage of and accept it. Or they aren't aware of their rights.

CAUTION

Pros

Opportunity to learn however, only for the specific role you have chosen.

Cons

The honeymoon phase is rather quick. Fear of the unknown sets quickly as the turnover is great within this organization and done so unprofessionally. Unless you belong to "the click" your tenure will be short lived. Open door policy will quickly turn into your out the door policy. Advancement opportunities are not an option although are relayed as "ask and you shall have." Honesty, integrity and leadership skills are lacking of management as a whole.
