      Great Start for Software Developers

      Pros

      Worked in a team environment with plenty of tools available for successfully utilizing the knowledge gained from University in real world situations - contracting with Thomson Reuters Inc, a large, multinational media and information firm, to support development of a commercial software application. The job helps students to get directly into the workforce following graduation and has great compensation for the work put in.

      Cons

      While some of the programming involved required a more advanced knowledge of coding (Java), much of it was rather basic eg. XML, HTML, CSS. There was also a great amount of freedom of when and how much work you could complete which could lead to less productivity.

      Pros

      Real experience working on projects using actual skills from school. Make your own schedule to fit with your school schedule. Pretty thorough training program. Fun office, lots of windows, cool part of town with excellent coffee options. Job lined up after graduation. Managers are cool and flexible but fair.

      Cons

      Parking downtown isn't free, and parking tickets are even less free :^(

      -Work entirely from home -You work as a contractor, so Maverick gets a large portion of what you are paid.
