Pros
Everyone in production/the field generally has a good attitude and is very cooperative and helpful. Lots of experienced carpenters to learn from. Job sites are mostly consolidated in Boulder (and the rest still in Boulder county) so commutes are consistent. Good scheduling for field employees (an outline every Friday of the next two weeks).
Cons
I think some of the meetings are unnecessary fluff. I know it's important to the owners to share with everyone about company progress, but the information could easily be presented in an email. I was also a little disappointed in the annual review process. Mostly the raise (less than $2/ 5% an hour and I got pretty good marks). Pretty much the only thing that's not considered in annual raises is cost-of-living/inflation. I brought up this concern and I know some others did as well but nothing came of it. I know the company is making enough money to compensate employees for that. We're all just trying to make a living.

I really enjoyed working for Melton. The staff is supportive and flexible. They were very good to work for. Unfortunately, I felt the opportunities for advancement were limited and decided to return to independent contracting.
Cons
Limited advancement opportunities. Some project managers were very difficult to work with.
