Pros

Flexible work schedule, enthusiastic co-workers, and helpful/informative career building events -- CV workshops and sessions with potential employers and grad schools for all interns.

Cons

Unpaid internship (though MEI provides transport stipends to and from work). Because the intake of interns is quite large, not ideal for those who want the internship to lead to a full-time job offer.

Pros

Small, tight knit group of educated and motivated individuals with a deep passion and interest in the Middle East.

Cons

The organization does not value its junior employees, offers no training or development opportunities, expects junior staff to work far beyond standard workweek without compensation (time off/overtime). Intense internal battles between department heads and chairpeople.
