Pros

Some of the people are nice?

Cons

I have honestly never worked in a worse culture than the one fostered by Minted. I had read the Glassdoor reviews prior to joining, and thought it 'can't be that bad', or 'it'll be different for me', but just heed my warning and please spend your precious energy elsewhere. A short list of massive cons: - The CEO creates a culture of fear and submission. I was personally yelled at for suggesting ideas in a meeting with her, and I witnessed her obnoxiously harass or berate other leaders during my time there as well. If you're interested in just doing as you're told and not having any input, then this may be a place for you. If you want to think, grow and thoughtfully contribute, there's no real space for that at Minted. - The whole culture is like a bad version of Mean Girls. There are a lot of smart people at Minted, but it's like the worst version of smart because it comes with MASSIVE egos and arrogance. - On their interview ratings for candidates, they literally have 'intelligence' as one of 5 or so factors. That always baffled me - how can you determine someone's intelligence from a 30 min interview? I thought it was a perfect example of the arrogance that permeates the whole culture. - The product is just not exciting or going anywhere. Most of the tech is built on spaghetti code - constantly inhibiting innovation and change, and the overall vision is just not big enough to make the future exciting or something I wanted to be part of.

Pros

There are some kind-hearted and talented people at Minted. Unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the CEO.

Cons

CEO belittles people and typically goes out of her way to do it in a public forum. It happens regularly about the smallest, most insignificant things. She also insists on approving everything so no one can get work done. Teams are yelled at for not meeting sales targets but have no control over productivity or any decision making.

Pros

Office is in a good location and designed nicely

Cons

Full time jobs are listed as such, however upon receiving a job offer, it is revealed that all "full time" employees are actually contract and can remain as such for up to one year (with zero benefits). $15 an hour is MINIMUM wage in one of the most expensive cities in the United States and does not change depending on your skills or expertise level. What a scam. A design company should uphold and support their designers and artists, not exploit them. This is akin to slave labor- clocking in, clocking out, no regulated hours or time off etc. Awful and truly a shame that this company has taken advantage of talented creatives and made a (unfathomable) good reputation for themselves. This "business model"should be illegal and the CEO should be ashamed to attend fancy parties and events while the foundation of her company suffers and gets zero compensation for basically building her success.
