The current state of the company.
They are on the very start of rebuilding their sales team. As of last week the longest working employee in a sales role was on day 9. When I started working there were two people who had already been working and before my second week was over they both quit. I started with two other people.. one quit day 2 the other finished out the week and didn't show back up on a Monday. I can go on, but you get the picture.
Whatever sales titled role you are applying for just know that you will have to prove you can canvass a neighborhood (door to door appointment setting) before you can go into a persons home to sell them solar. This is a nightly thing. Their job posting as of now says you will be running 2-3 company generated appointments and that's just a flat out lie. You start at the office and role play the pitch with some objections then directly to a neighborhood in the west valley. The company iPad you are promised in the job ad isn't given until you can prove yourself, so you're out there old school style with appointment sheets and a clipboard.
Their end to end training is them making it very clear that you need to know the pitch word for word (they strongly encourage you have it down before you start day 1) and then he sprinkles in a motivational youtube video/podcast and some past life experiences that have got him to where he is today. Second part of the training is either going out with the owner or the sales director to watch them hustle knocking on doors in hopes of setting a few appointments to show us we can do the same.
The whole business model is sloppy at best. It's a turn and burn situation right now.. they expect you to invest everything into becoming a great salesperson for their company, but at their slightest inconvenience they jump ship as far as putting in any effort to make you a better employee for their company.
