Pros

Some lovely talented people work here.

Cons

That talent is often stomped on. I could go on about the issues written throughout these reviews, horrible, mean and frankly incompetent management throughout the entire organisation. Awful value of worker time and wellbeing, I didn't realise until I left how awful the chairs and desks were because the majority of my back pain stopped. They are also letting people go left right and centre without replacing them. Meaning they are clearly losing money fast. The entire company's finances are propped up on shaky marketing deals which fall through because monocle simply is nowhere near as popular as they make their investors believe. I will leave the advice to managers part blank because they don't really know what that word means unfortunately. I wouldn't go near Monocle with a ten foot pole personally, and neither should you.

Pros

- Nice office in Marylebone - Name looks good on CV to those who've heard of Monocle - Depending on your popularity, you may have good opportunities to grow professionally - Dog friendly office - Good holiday allowance

Cons

This is a deeply toxic workplace. Here is a slice of what to expect: - Blame culture with no psychological safety - Bullying by CEO and management is commonplace - Culture of fear - No out of office allowed (even for the most junior staff members). Ie, you are expected to be 'always on' even if you're earning minimum wage or on Mat leave - Controlling rules like no purple clothing allowed (yes, really) - Strictly no WFH! - Having a family and family responsibilities is seen as an inconvenience to the business - Witnessed overt racism here - Long working day - No ergonomic chairs because 'they don't look good' - you will get serious back pain - You will also get bad eyesight as office lighting is designed to be low and Scandi, rather than functional.
