Pros

Collaborated with a supportive and friendly team across different departments.

Cons

Worked under a "Leader" who has been with the company for over 20 years. It felt more like being managed by someone who simply knows how to boss you around, without offering guidance or support to help you succeed. I often found myself confused about what she actually contributed to the Company, aside from constantly complaining about having no leads and threatening to let me go, rather than fostering a productive or motivating environment. I frequently had to chase down approvals and send multiple daily reminders for tasks or decisions, which slowed down my ability to perform efficiently. I have never had to do this with any of my prior bosses. The tone used when speaking to me was often disrespectful, and it wasn’t just my observation, others in the office noted it as well. I was initially told I would need to be in the office once a week, but that expectation was later changed to three days without prior discussion or agreement. I often felt accused or doubted, with phrases like “you said this” or “you said that” being used in a way that questioned my honesty and professionalism. When I was going through personal hardships, including the loss of a friend and a serious illness in my family, I was told to “leave it at the door". A lack of empathy that was particularly striking, especially given how I was treated when the situation was reversed. I accepted a lower salary with the understanding I would support sales efforts and receive a percentage of the revenue generated, but this arrangement was never spoken about once i started my position. I also experienced what I would describe as consistent undermining of my efforts, which created a toxic and demoralizing environment. Lastly, there is a lack of company culture and the issues of favoritism that can create an unbalanced and demotivating environment.

Thank you for your advice. It is always challenging when the match isn't right but we wish you well in your future professional endeavors, Offer letters will clearly outline the hybrid schedule being extended (as well as job title/functions/compensation), so we encourage everyone to confirm it is best for them, or ask questions, before accepting the role. We are so proud of our high achieving team (avg tenure 9 years) and strive to celebrate everyone's hard work and successes.

Pros

The company consists of a very intelligent and dedicated team. Management generally does a great job of hiring the right people so if you have an opportunity here consider yourself fortunate. I really enjoy and respect my coworkers. This company knows what it's doing. Also a good benefit package and free lunch every Wednesday.

Cons

No major cons. I'm happy here.

Pros

VP is great and genuinely wants everyone to succeed, she’s fantastic. Hybrid work schedule. Room for internal growth. Professional development opportunities offered.

Cons

Intense and cutthroat small environment where everyone is out to get each other. The lack of comradery and highly competitive energy is definitely what makes the environment so stressful - on top of the open seating and glass walls which leads for zero privacy. Watch your back, keep your lips sealed, keep your head down, expect to always be working even when you’re on vacation, and don’t expect any privacy.

This is really surprising to read, almost wondering if its a mistake. While we acknowledge working in an Ad Agency can get intense at times, the majority sentiment about our team is usually quite different. Up until recently our team was almost entirely remote/WFH, and although we did adjust to some time in office now, its still pretty quiet working in the office on most days. Apologies if you had an experience which was different than most. We always encourage our team share concerns in real-time with their managers. Leadership has an "open door" policy and regularly seeks feedback. To clarify for others, there is no expectation or requirement to work on vacation and we encourage the opposite - totally unplug to reset and recharge, Our managers work diligently to get the proper OOO coverage in place to support this, so unless there was an emergency, its contradictory to what we expect or prepare for. Fortunately, it seems you enjoyed working for one of our Executives and appreciate you highlighting that and the growth/development opportunities the company offers for all.
