Thanks for dropping in some feedback! Career progression at Motion is tied to performance. We strive to provide learning and growth opportunities at every turn for all employees, but especially those at junior and entry levels. We check in on that progress at 3 months, 6 months, and a year. If you are still a full-time employee here, be sure to talk to your department lead on next steps.

Pros

Diverse across specialties, skills, experiences, age, etc. Solid company culture that has something for everyone - it's not forced and the Culture Committee does a great job of keeping the culture authentic versus trying to be trendy. People talk to each other about things outside of work and everyone cares who you are as a person when you aren't at your desk. One of the best work-life balances I've experienced in agency life. People take time for lunch or a few small breaks. There can be early mornings or late nights or even weekends depending on what a client has going on but that's the exception not the rule like other agencies that expect you to live and breath your job. People come in, stay focused, work hard and do good every day. Compensation is in line with other agencies if not slightly better when it comes to equality of compensation at each level. Working for an independent company means the people who you see every day are influencing your promotions and pay increases, not a holding company that's more concerned about profits than they are about you're well-being and happiness. There's more opportunity to grow and learn as you're ready, with that comes increases in compensation and more opportunity.

Cons

There are a few "growing pains" still being worked on post-merger but that's to be expected a year and a few months out. When you have to dig for negatives at your job you realize anything you come up with is spilled milk, and that the grass probably isn't greener on the other side.

Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves on cultivating a positive agency environment. This includes people-first benefits like competitive pay and a generous PTO plan. Part of our commitment also includes a comfortable 35-hour work week, which we strive to maintain. Things do ebb and flow in our business, so workload can pick up on occasion, but no one is expected to consistently work after hours. If this has been your experience, we hope you will connect with your manager, as this is not a typical Motion employee experience, and we’ll make sure you get the support you need. We appreciate you raising the issue and look forward to working with you to remedy it.
