Pros

I guess I made some friends

Cons

The most toxic workplace i have ever had the displeasure of working. Almost all employees, other than those in management, saw their mental health deteriorate during their time at mountjoy. There was always at least one person signed off and a few of them were hospitalised due to stress. Regardless of what position you hold, you are pressured to step up and work across departments but then you are moaned at if you do not perform at a perfect standard despite lack of training. The management team is filled with bullies who use personal problems against you, and will use mental health as a way to avoid confrontation about concerns. You are made to feel guilty for taking any time off, despite no sick pay being offered. Conversations are incredibly inappropriate, and political discussions are constant and often offensive. Its very clear the majority of the employees are transphobic, homophobic, sexist and racist. Misogyny is at an all time high and management will often have disgusting and inappropriate conversations about female employees. God forbid you make a mistake because it will be blown completely out of proportion even if you are under pressure to over-perform or as they say "go above and beyond" There is no reward. No satisfaction and absolutely no positive re-inforcement.

Pros

You get paid. A little. Sometimes.

Cons

Very poor wage for the amount of work that is demanded of you. Poor systems to work with which means jobs will be missed and errors occur. Computer systems that are outdated and full of bugs, and YOU will be blamed for it because you didn't work around them. Management who unable to communicate and blame YOU for not being able to read their minds. Outright abusive management who verbally insult and belittle you and then drag you into meetings for not being happy enough. You could work there for half a decade and you would still be treated like you're excrement by uppity no-nothing people who barely know how to do their own jobs. A toxic work environment full of people who pull you down and tell you that you're useless when in fact they're the ones who can't do their jobs right and don't want to hear otherwise. No respect for employees, no respect for customers. If you speak up about harassment or bullying, YOU'RE the one that is blamed for it and told that you are 'causing a scene'. Managers will refuse to put you forward to speak to occupational health which is against employment H&S laws. Managers partake in conversations that are racist and transphobic, and discuss protected characteristics of their employees publicly which is also against the law, but they don't care because they don't give a rat's backsideabout anybody except for themselves. The company is very greedy and aren't willing to invest anything in their employees (outside of a christmas party which is just a reason for managers to give other managers awards), and because of that you shouldn't expect any training, which means that none of the managers know how to do manage staff and new employees don't know what they're doing correctly. Phenomenally short-sighted as a company. Even after you leave, they will chase you for overpaid wages, which they can't calculate correctly and 'forget' to deduct tax so as to try to swindle additional money out of you. The company has a massive turnover of staff and the reasons why are very clear.
