Pros

Birthday holiday, pension, stunning office in the heart of Newcastle

Cons

Got to be the worst place I have ever worked, honestly wasted years of my life working here. too many managers, no clear structure and they treat people terribly. The leadership team surround themselves with yes people who are out for themselves. I witnessed very lazy managers who get paid a fortune for sitting on their phones, chatting to their friends and taking long liquid lunches. NBS / RIBA Enterprises (whatever they call themselves) is all about the image, they dont look after their staff. A company that can not see the wood for the trees. Not flexible and have no people skills, one rule for one and another for someone else. Terrible company and beyond help. I left the business for anotehr job where I am valued and treated with respect

Pros

- Due to the senior leadership at Hubexo (parent company) and incompetent yes men managers, the great culture and morale here was completely wiped out in the space of a year due to Hubexo's need to "fix" what wasn't broken. - What was once a successful business and a great place to work, is somewhere I would recommend avoiding at all costs. - 35 hour week - Lovely office (but soon to be closed and sold)

Cons

- Very low salary against area averages by about 15-20k+ - Sales commission plan was slashed to reward you the absolute minimum whilst asking for maximum results. - Product prices have been hiked dramatically, a hard sell to majority of market. - Every month, salaries and commissions are calculated incorrectly and you have to chase finance to fix it, meaning you're regilarly short changed. - Incompetent management and senior leadership. - Redundancy happy. - If notices are handed in, you are treated as if you are fired (even if you have tenure and were very successful in your role) and shoved out of the door on PILON. - If you have a physical disability, the tone deaf attitude will have you continually requesting support with no equipment. - Despite 50 years of brand equity, Hubexo will soon be removing the name NBS. - No career path - Management will pretend to hold interviews when they already have someone picked out for the role.

Pros

Used to be a great company, now there are no pros to working there.

Cons

The people running this business do not care about their staff one bit. They cut all the sales staffs commission whilst simultaneously dramatically increasing targets. Very profitable business, performing very well, and they still felt the need to squeeze money out of their staff who have been loyal employees for years. Massively underpaid basic wages compared to the industry, the commission scheme used to make that manageable but now there is no incentive to work there. The people making business decisions have no idea what they’re doing and unfortunately have ruined a great business. They have lost the majority of their long standing staff since the start of the year due to these changes. It does not matter what package you join the business on, they will change it to be worse as soon as possible.
