Pros

The frequent mass redundancies means nobody has to work at NMGroup for any long period of time, unless of course they see you as mindless cheap labor, then they'll keep you on.

Cons

A very non-innovative culture that DOES NOT reward employees and DOES NOT offer any potential to progress based on personal merit. Weak, young management and a strong sense of bureaucracy. Clueless executive and senior management that have driven the company into the ground, resulting in half the company being laid off. Technical staff recruits that hold degrees tend to leave within a few months after realising that the "GIS Analyst" role they applied for is actually a heavy data processing job, holding no relevance to their GIS degree what so ever. The ability to progress consists of a yearly payrise of £300. One of very few "geospatial and engineering" companies that is managed by monkeys.

Pros

The job starts off interesting, and can be fun when learning new skills. However the work is relatively easy and management do no encourage training new skills.

Cons

9 day rotating shift pattern (3 days 5:30am-2:00pm, 3 days 2:00pm-10:30pm, 3 days off). 30 minute break, no other rest breaks allowed. Cheap office chairs. Bad management. Arbitrary deadlines. Generally low morale. £14,000 per year starting salary for a GIS role lowest in the industry. No career progression. Frequent lay offs due to bad hiring tactics. Data processing so very boring. Little to no formal training. No respect from upper management. Incredibly high turn over of staff.
