Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback about your experience with Netcompany. While it’s always valuable to hear from our former employees, we regret to hear about the concerns you’re raising, and we appreciate your openness in sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is valuable as it contributes to our ongoing efforts to create a positive and constructive work environment for our current and future team members. Your specific mention of nepotism is particularly concerning, and we want to emphasise that we do not condone favouritism. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment at Netcompany and take allegations of nepotism extremely seriously. We are therefore very concerned by your comments, and I would ask that you reach out to HR at hr.uk@netcompany.com to discuss what you have observed so it may be investigated. The well-being of staff is highly prioritised at Netcompany. Pros

Decent socials with plenty of alcohol

Cons

Some serious cronyism. Promoting junior developers to a senior role without any experience due to the people they know and how loud they are. In this company you have to bow to the partners and principals to get promoted. Real work and drive is not identified. Also subtle racism exists in the company and a complicated board and HR makes this hard to handle/ deal with. Wellbeing of staff needs to be prioritised. Wellbeing is hard to maintain with a typical male corporate culture and unpaid overtime.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to read that you were unhappy during your time at Netcompany. With respect to promotions, all employees go through a thorough review, including 1:1 dialogue with both their manager and mentor, to ensure their ongoing development and understand their readiness for promotion. After these meetings, and to further ensure fairness and consistency, all employees are evaluated by not only their project manager, but a committee consisting of several people. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment at Netcompany and take allegations of racism extremely seriously. We are therefore very concerned by your comments, and I would ask that you speak to our Head of HR for the UK, Samantha Groom, (samantha.groom@netcompany.com) to discuss what you have observed, so it may be looked in to. Wellbeing of staff is highly prioritised in Netcompany. We are working continuously to ensure that our people feel safe, included and that they have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally – on top of staying healthy physically and mentally. We additionally have a number of employee benefits to support physical and mental wellbeing, such as company funded private healthcare available to for all employees, access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme and additionally an Occupational Health provision in place where extra support is needed. We have also recently introduced a hybrid working policy to enable employees to work flexibly from both their home and office locations. If you have any suggestions on what we could be doing differently or better to support the wellbeing of all Netcompany employees, please reach out to me at cklb@netcompany.com. We often have employees who actively reach out and suggest improvements, and these are always welcome. Thanks again for taking the time to review us. Best, Charlotte

Top 5 Glassdoor reviews… Really?

Pros

Good potential projects with big clients (NHS, HMRC, etc). Fun socials and ‘training’ seminars in Denmark. Male developers seem to have a good experience here.

Cons

First of all, some of the managers here are pretty bad. A lot of the project managers have no experience in technology and have no clue how to lead an agile team. This leads to a lot of micro-managing. Completely goes against their ethos “IT people leading IT people”. Dissolved a whole business unit and several layoffs without no company announcement - you can only imagine the company gossip at the time. Although some people are lucky to be in good long term projects here, others are jumped from project to the bench to another project every few months, with no chance to develop, especially as a grad. People are promoted VERY quickly - 1 or 2 years after being a grad you somehow become a “senior” ? This is probably so they can sell you to clients for more money. Promotions and pay reviews are very un-transparent. It’s more of a “yes” or “no”, not a conversation you’ll be involved in or listened to. Has a very corporate vibe to it, unlike any other tech company in the 21st century. It is very hierarchical, contrary to how they describe themselves as “non-hierarchical”. This is a minor one, but job titles are “consultants” even if you are a developer, tester, or PMO, which can get confusing.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your feedback is valuable as it contributes to our ongoing efforts to create a positive and constructive work environment for our current and future team members. I’m sorry to hear that your time at Netcompany hasn’t met your expectations. In terms of management, we are somewhat different from our peers, as we like that our managers have solid experience in IT, and we encourage all employees to gain management experience as they progress on their career paths. In terms of being promoted and the timing of it, we have a yearly development cycle, and all employees are given feedback to support career development and align work results with expectations. This process helps each of us evaluate and prepare for the future by talking through skills, improvement points, and career aspirations and desires. Based on these conversations and evaluations, roles and salaries are adjusted accordingly. We let people advance whenever they are ready for it because we think that we should help everyone develop at their own pace. When people are promoted to either senior or manager, they will automatically be enrolled in our ‘New Senior Seminar’ and/or our ‘New Manager Seminar’ to ensure that they get the support they need to take on this new responsibility. I’m sorry that this does not correspond to your experience with us, and if you would like to elaborate on your specific experiences with the managers you’ve had, please feel free to reach out to me at jdk@netcompany.com. Lastly, I wish to address your comment regarding frequent shifts between projects. At Netcompany, we work on projects that enable a better, more sustainable society by creating IT solutions that make a positive impact. However, the size and duration of the project might differ, which is also why some employees will experience being on the same project for a long time, while others might change projects more frequently. I can see that you are a former employee at Netcompany, but if anyone is not happy due to frequent shifts in projects, we encourage them to reach out to either the project manager or mentor to discuss this matter, as they would be able to assist. Thank you again for writing a review. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Best, Julie
