Pros

There are career opportunities because everyone keeps leaving or getting laid off.

Cons

The boss truly knows his way with words. Will build up an unrealistic dreamland of what the job is for a week. Then once you are comfortable everything turns a 180. Overworked and underpaid is the name of the game. Says salary employees don't have a set off time or breaks. You WILL work way more than 40 hours a week but only get paid for the 40 hours. Blames the hostile work environment he has built on employees not built in the "company culture" but its actually all him. He knows how to work people's weaknesses and dangles more pay like a carrot, but will wait until the last possible moment to actually give it to you. Uses underhanded tactics to write own reviews and bad mouth other competing companies. Claims he is transparent to his employees and customers but I truly believe he does not know the meeting of that word.

Pros

I started working here about a year and a half ago. During that time, I applied to several positions I did not receive offers for because of my lack of field experience in the landscape industry at the time. New Image and the GM gave me a chance when no one else would. Due to the lack of field experience, the transition into the account manager role was difficult and challenging at first, I was provided with the support and training that I needed to learn how to bid maintenance jobs and on extra work. I have received two raises that I did not even have to ask for since I started. I did not even have to ask. This shows the gratitude this company has for their employees. The GM and I get along very well and gives me a great overall balance of support/independence. There is a lot of trust placed in me, which I highly appreciate. The office staff is great as well. They are always very welcoming and supportive and will always help you with anything you ask for. The office manager creates a safe and positive environment and she is always smiling and laughing and very cheerful, which makes worth that much more enjoyable. Overall, this company changed my life and I am very grateful and very blessed to have the opportunity to work for a company that shares the same values and culture. It is also great to see that this company takes care of the employees that have been around for such a long time. There are employees who have been here for 10-20 years and that is because this company takes care of its people and provides opportunities, education, training, and room for advancing your career.

Cons

Corporate headquarters are a little far from the Sacramento Region.

Pros

If you’re working under the VP’s team, every week is eventful! You are literally in the middle of some new drama whether it be issues you’re having with him, or issues someone else is having with him 😊

Cons

You work in a constant state of anxiety as to whether you’ll be the next person he verbally attacks. Whether it’d be today, tomorrow, next week, or next month, you’ll never know when he’s going to be in a bad mood and turns to take it out on you. The VP and his team will use various harassment techniques to selectively apply rules to you or other coworkers when they feel like it. There is no consistency to when they choose to ‘discipline’ you and while they hold everyone up to a high standard of ‘safety,’ all they do is preach and throw out write-ups left and right while never holding themselves to the same level. Upper management micromanages and you’ll almost never get your work done in an efficient manner. They also do not facilitate a positive work environment and try to dissuade you from getting along with your coworkers either by physical separation or straight up telling you not to talk to each other. They use a multitude of compliments to try and make you feel appreciated while their actions show otherwise and NEVER own up to their own actions. They’ll also use underhanded tactics to try and make themselves look better such as stooping as low as to faking employee reviews (see the Sept 15th one). You can try and talk to HR, but he’s building up his own HR team that he can puppeteer and manipulate so when the company gets to that point... Good luck to anyone who’s still there.
