    I worked at Newsquest full-time

    Pros

Nice onsite canteen where I worked, good in house training to help you progress. Management ok on the whole, reasonable salary and good range of products.

    Cons

Too much in house back biting, seems more middle managers than sales staff, so they struggle to tackle unacceptable behaviour as to fairly deal with issues can prove unfavourable and good advert sellers are hard to come by. It is what it is, so if you don’t like a challenging environment it’s probably not for you. Outdated booking systems over complicate things and make for a bit of a learning curve to say the least...

    Advice to Management

Remain impartial even if it’s difficult and try not to encourage bad practices, which create conflict. Get your CRM/Booking system updated!

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Newsquest full-time for more than a year

    Pros

ZERO! Other than the some of the sales people. Although I feel sorry for them! sticking with it there!

    Cons

*Zero money in the company! The dont even have nice chairs! they're old and very dirty! The offices stink and the equipment and systems are a joke Clueless leadership! Stuck selling weekly features to the poor suckers that buy them and prop up the dying papers. Efforts should be to find the need of the clients and provide a winning solution for an investment in Marketing! its the exact opposite and unethical! ...

    Advice to Management

Stop people like the CEO taking 1.5 Million in a bonus when the business doesn't even have adequate furniture, and they're making heartless redundancies! Treat the clients with respect and be honest with their money! or the business will never grow.

      Cons

I never experienced any at all.

I worked at Newsquest full-time for less than a year

      Pros

The real people who work there

      Cons

4 different managers, micro managed into the ground. One particular one should be in the Psychopath Test book. My advice and this is not being bitter at all is, just be very careful if you are offered a job there. It's very dodgy as you can probably tell by the other reviews too. Good luck.

      Advice to Management

Respect the ability and intelligence of the people you employ and get down from your ivory tower. Stop swanning around pretending you are doing something. Your business is like a comedy dictatorship. Look at the other comments and your employee turnover. Good luck too hitting your target this year 😊

I worked at Newsquest full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Struggling to genuinely think of one

      Cons

Dreadful working environment. Antique managers who have no realistic clue about the digital marketplace. They are desperately trying to make this work for them while they have old school local newspaper mentality. The offices are dismal and the workplace environment is negative. Stayed 3 months and couldn’t wait to leave.

      Advice to Management

I have been working at Newsquest full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Decent holiday allowance and some flexibility to working hours.

      Cons

Poor pay, undelivered promises to employees and clients, poor client experience, bad working environment, massive staff turnover, ever-changing priorities, lack of direction, invisible MD, ridiculous targets which are unfairly apportioned....I could go on....and on....and on.

      Advice to Management

Having seen over 25 sales people come and go in 2 years, start to ask....could this be a problem with us? Is the culture wrong here? Stop asking the same small business to advertise in umpteen different products to help hit targets - look after your clients by placing them in the right product. Don't give new starters a target of £8k in their first month then put them on a performance review for not hitting...because...
