Pros

See parts of the world you wouldn't normally see. Days off by the pool with the lads was fun

Cons

Originally was told that all earnings are tax free (which is a lie you have to pay tax) we was also told you would earn 5k pay rise each 6 month review which was also a lie. You are told you will work 6 weeks on (occasionally 7) and have 3 weeks off this is also a lie as sometimes you are sent home early on purpose only for the office to bring you back out within the first week of being at home. You CANNOT plan any family life as there is no structure to OES' rotation You are given two booked leaves but if you save one for christmas (even if you have worked the previous one ) it will be taken away from you and wasted. Dodgy deals will be made with the office favourites or the backside lickers leaving the people with genuine leave time behind and having to pick up the slack Blamed the downturn on terrible paycuts yet every other company out there was paying at least double OES wages, point was proven the moment I left OES to work for another company. Office staff try to bully you into doing longer hitches for free, if you quote the conrtact that you signed when starting up you are then told its no longer valid or that we don't work to that deal any more (whether the boss knows this or not... I don't know) If you are not a yes man, stand your ground and try to work what you signed up for you are then dealt with like a naughty child and the office put you on bad jobs and try to make you do longer hitches by lying to you. Your are forced into jobs you are neither ready or trained for by the office staff. The UK pod don't listen to you or answer calls when needed, If you are not a yes man then you are threatened with your job The US pod's equipment is all unsafe or have no certification to back it up... which is ironic considering its a Inspection company. The Dubai pod expect you to be some sort of delivery service bringing equipment back from the UK to Dubai. You're called on your time off and made to go back to work early

Interesting feedback, none of which was shared with the management team, and hideously biased and unsubstantiated. Im not really going to go further than that with this, as so much is so bitter that it would seem pointless. And for the record, if you work internationally for OES, your pay is tax free from OES, you of course do have to work out your own tax return under the laws of the country you are resident of, from an employer view point it is very much tax free though internationally.

Pros

Trying to find a pro about this company is like trying to get blood out of stone

Cons

Horrendous pay yet they charge clients the going rate what OES’ competitors do (I was cc’d into an email by accident with invoices, if you want to see them hit me up) Long hitches, longer than what you’re contracted to, will hold you over the barrel if refusal to work longer. Added to that, you could get called back to work on day 1 of leave after a 6+ week hitch. My last job I worked over 8 weeks (made a deal with line manager) on day 3 of leave another pod were trying to send me back offshore for 3 weeks, I quit instantly. Send you on a “2 day wee drop job” to get on a job and find out you’re going to be on board over a month, without the correct equipment or tools for the job, to which line mangement say, “ask the rig if they have what you need”

Im wondering if the last few reviews are all the same person putting them up from different email accounts, but the complete disrespectful way they are posted speaks volumes. As to the negativity, well, that would be why so many inspectors in particular leave OES for whatever reason, and then get in touch usually within a couple of months to ask if they can come back. So, perhaps not quite as bad as whoever these reviews are posted by really say.

Pros

Cannot think of any pathetic excuse of a company.

Cons

Conning their clients into thinking they are getting a full survey from employees who have the right credentials.

My advice to whoever you are is come out from behind your anonymity and lets address these issues you claim. OES is a market leader in what we do with some of the most highly experienced and trained inspectors in our sector, and we push hard for self improvement and reward the same. This review is quite obviously biased for reasons I fail to understand, is completely inaccurate and indeed for OES to be trading, growing and getting stronger in the current market is testament to all the people in the business who are the polar opposite of that you claim. 22 years, no catastrophe, indeed we solidfy our position and get better and better. thanks for the 'pathetic excuse' for a review.
