Pros

Good Benefits Only Lack of Management

Cons

Job insecurity : Employees may be let go without a clear reason or cause, even after years of dedication and promotions. Lack of transparency: The decision-making process, such as not providing a reason for termination, can lead to feelings of unfair treatment and confusion among employees. Favoritism or nepotism: The situation with my former manager returning from maternity leave and reclaiming her position, leading to my termination, suggests potential issues of favoritism or nepotism within the organization. Lack of support: Being let go without a clear explanation after years of hard work and advancement can leave employees feeling unsupported and undervalued by the company. Toxic work environment: The feeling of being part of a "gang" or clique within the organization can indicate a toxic work environment where certain individuals may have undue influence or power over others.

Pros

The workforce at OLG has great and capable people. Family culture because of the longer term staff supporting newer staff, and despite puppet execs that follow the mindless CEO and CIO. Good benefits if you can last long enough.

Cons

CxO Execs typically have less than 3 years in their existing role (they get switched a lot), and charge in directions as if they know the business, which the results, engagement scores, exodus of good talent, and culture on the floor, clearly indicate they are just cheque-collecting. Regular Pay Freezes and Hiring Freezes, but Execs pull in 300-600K+ no problem. Raises have nothing to do with competence and management has no control over what they give, and can't even guarantee you'll get a raise. Broadstroke common raise, which is only a "maybe" if the board and government allow it. CIO is all talk, cutting every VP and Director that has experience and substance to lead. Encourages openness then crushes differing views LOL. Culture has done a 180 turn to fear and silence in the 10 months she's been there. Congrats! Seemingly annual Org changes or anytime a new CXO is put in place (which is constant) means exec Leadership is learning and guessing while they chop - jobs are always on the edge of not being there the next year. This used to be a great place to work, with hard work to do, but great people. Now, it's just rotten. Tanked to "Stay Away" in merely 3 years.
