Avoid this place company the plague. Poor management from the top, down. The photo retouching department is particularly toxic. There are little cliques there that destroy any morale there. There is no defined leadership in that department. We have a manager that literally does nothing all day but flirt with the women from other departments and listens for any gossip within the department or company. If you are liked by him, he will do anything for you. If he doesn't like you for whatever reason, he will stop at nothing to constantly pressure you or belittle you- including public humiliation.
If you want a day off, the manager will direct you to get permission from "team leader" who is NOT a manager and who can decide your fate on a whim or when it is convenient for her. She will have no problems telling yo no to vacation plans, with the excuse that they are just too busy, and then she will take vacation during that time period. Mind you, their vacation policy is "use it or lose it." So if you have days that you want to use, and you are declined, you are in essence giving the company 2 weeks of labor for FREE. That seems to be the plan there as many people frequently had days at the end of the year where they simply lost because they weren't allowed to take their time when they wanted. This was systemic in that department.
There are absurd working environments and then there is this place. It is just ridiculous. Insane daily quotas that must be emailed in at the end of the day for verification, that are then conveniently forgotten. Also, recognition for a job well done is NEVER acknowledged but with the convenient free lunch. You work in a dark room environment where only certain people are allowed to talk. And those certain people have to be a part of the special clique. If not, the "manager" will then send you a text to stop talking, instead of actually talking to you since he is afraid of what people will say about him and afraid of any confrontation.
It was just a horrible, hostile environment that was not normal but thought to be normal. It was easily the single worst job I have ever had in my entire career.
