Pros

Everyday food coffee and chocolate in the kitchen.

Cons

Not recommended place to work for. Egoistic management, self centered managers. Working hours are monitored. Employees are devaluated. No opportunities to grow and develop. Over 15 employees left during 2020, + the ones who were laid off. Unethical business practice. Gloomy office. You are better off somewhere else.

Pros

I did a personal record working at onoff - 5 years! Before onoff I worked in 3 development companies and stayed there for about 2,5 years. In one word - that says a lot! There was a big work performed to finally transform onoff from an endless startup to a really great company. There were hired more people to organize the processes, finally appeared a human resource manager. Office improved a lot also. Former workers visit us sometimes and they are surprised how our office have changed in a positive manner. There is almost no chaos with processes right now. I believe we need some more time to totally make things as agile as possible. Last year we tried different techniques and still in a process of searching of an ideal solution. Management is very worried about company prestige and about company reviews, especially bad ones that were written here. Management doing best to improve it. For example: - Taig tries to come to Tallinn as often as possible (every week since last year before the COVID lockdown) and asks everybody not to hesitate to contact him when he leaves. - We are in process of a creation self development program where every employee could get some additional education and personal growth. - Career opportunity is possible in some teams! I believe, as bigger we become, more career opportunities would appear in future. - Your opinion is always important (until you say that CEO is a fool. c'mon, create your company then, I believe you'd succeed if you know how things should be correctly done, as onoff does them incorrectly). - Remote work is possible, if you need some additional equipment to work from home - just let the HR manager to know this! Even some employees had "workations" when they worked remotely from another country. - Work hours not silently tracked anymore. Purpose of a tracking was to get the correct information about overtimes. As our overtimes are paid according to the law. Nobody would come to you saying: "Hey, you have 8 hours undertime, you will get less salary." This is a fake! That never happened in onoff. - equipment is replaceable if you request it! You can buy an expensive chair if you want, just ask a new HR manager. - And much more minor details... Company has lot of money paid by investors. All this is a myth that company has money only for a current year and nobody knows if you have your job next year or not. Company is profitable and able to live without investors. Salary increase every year from 3% to 10% or in some special cases much more. Moreover, collective is quite young and international. There are no conflicts among people, everybody is friendly (of course there were exceptions, but those people left us or got fired). You could make lot of friends at onoff. It is normal that Friday evening someone drinking beer or wine on the kitchen and having some conversation. CTO is very friendly, same as CEO. "Power distance" is minimal within company. It is fine when CEO comes to you and friendly hits you on the shoulder. It is totally fine to have a lunch with CTO during the work day. (Just tell him in advance, as there are lot of candidates) What to say more.. We still have company parties, maybe not so often last year due to pandemic, but still. Of course full table of snacks and fruits. You are free to ask some special snacks just for you. Sport, car parking compensation. Office in the center and there are lot of people despite COVID and despite allowance to work remotely.

Cons

If there is still something - then definitely would be improved in the nearest time.

Pros

+ Office location is nice + Computers and IT softwares are last generation + You will be given whatever you need in terms of devices to complete your job properly

Cons

- Do not expect your opinion to be heard or respected by the management. Ever. - During the time I spent at Onoff, not a single employee was authorised to attend any training or conference what so ever. The CEO has to take the spotlight. Nobody else. - France based management expects you to spend 8 hours a day coding and tracks you as much as possible. If you come for an interview in Tallinn, take the time to notice the pieces of plastic blocking the door lockers. These make sure you swipe your card in and out to track you. - I have seen very talented people turned into just "doers" and asked not to think because "they don't understand anything anyway". The psychological pressure is terrible. The management got the most of them for as long as possible, and then pushed them away when they couldn't take it anymore. These people are now free from Onoff, thriving and highly respected specialists in their fields. They've told me "being let go by onoff Telecom was the best thing that could ever happen to them". - There is a management office based in France. Do not expect them to respect you. For them, the Tallinn office is just a ressource pool and you are a number inside of it. They won't respect you or your work. They just want you to do more, more, more. Meanwhile, they will keep repeating how "everything is so perfect". They live in a different reality. The French from the Tallinn office were cool guys though. -The CEO is never in the office. He is travelling. On the other hand, do not expect to be allowed working remote. During Covid time, employees had to protest hard to get that right. Nowadays, you can stay home only if you "feel really bad". But don't forget to work! - Never seen a single person being promoted at Onoff.
