You will not have room to move up. Management will scrutinize every move and leave you with very few options to resolve patron issues yourself but will also not be available to resolve patron issues. Management seems to want to run the company like a company concerned with a bottom line rather than the government agency it is.

Some woman who works as the Ciculation Head at the Main Library offered me the job. I asked her where I would be working because they offered me the job under the "Spectrum" management program. There are nearly 20 locations so I asked where I would be working and the woman BRISTLED at my question. I was from out of town so of course I would want to know the LOCATION of my job. Ha. And she got mad. And then I had the NERVE to ask about health insurance for my spouse. AGAIN, the woman reacted negatively. I told her I would need a few days to consider the offer. She agreed. And then 2 hours later, she called to rescind the job offer.
