-Gets to learn from bottom up -Great skipping stone for offshore career

-Very specific career pathway if Survey Engineer -Limited skillset, need to explore other skill ownself in other field if want to survive onshore later -Management will experience short in field staff and will send out any crew out for job even though the crew just got back from a 1.5 month job and have been home less than 1 week. -hard to balance life-work-family
