Pros

Pods has so many great people that work there, particularly in the Sales and Service Center. People that truly care about each other and their customers, and I enjoyed working with those individuals. It is true that the Sales and Service Center is going through a transformation, but the other review under that title was completely misleading. The transformation is going in the opposite direction vs. what was described in that review, and people reading reviews deserve to know the truth. The previous leadership at the Sales and Service Center genuinely cared about the Associates. They fought for what they needed because they understood that this is a people business and people make you or break you. They are not "widgets". This is something the majority of the senior leadership team at PODS just does not understand. The Sales and Service Center had been completely transformed over the past 5 years in the face of NUMEROUS challenges, and anyone that knows anything about the Center knows that the leadership was not a problem. New sales records, unprecedented customer satisfaction rates, and massive reductions in turnover occurred during that period. No, they were not the problem. The leadership changes were a direct result of a vendetta by an unscrupulous senior leader that is ultimately responsible for Sales and Marketing in the organization. Despite the success of the former leadership, he played politics so that he could bring his personal friends in. He is pretty much the most egotistical and narcissistic human being you will ever meet, with no ethics whatsoever. He projects this sense of being confident, but deep down he's a jealous little boy that is just mad that he's not popular. The new leaders at the Sales and Service Center are in those roles strictly based on their friendship and not their knowledge and skill. They are "yes men" to their boss and not a threat, which is what he wants. I applaud the previous leadership for leaving. In the past few months staff is starting to leave, including at least 3 SSC managers in recent weeks. The only thing the new sales leader knows how to do is run contests; he has no strategic direction nor understanding of how to run a business of this magnitude. The new VP is in way over his head and lacks any connection with his team or the Associates in the Center. His strategic direction shifts with the change in wind direction. The HR Business Partner is worthless. Don't count on anything being confidential - your business will be spread all over the place - and she certainly will not fight for what is right; she will only fight for what makes her look good or feeds her own self-promoting attitude. Her boss knows this but looks the other way. This is all part of the cultural problems that hold PODS back from being an incredible company. Ironically "we take care of our Associates first" is something you will hear coming from the senior leader's mouths, but their actions are just the opposite. They recently did an employee survey, and ironically only reported the good stuff. Just in complete denial of their real problems. The individual that wrote the "transformation" review is simply trying to deflect the truth, and paint this picture that things are fine at PODS and at the SSC so that those seeking potential employment at PODS are not scared away. The individual that wrote that review is also part of the problem, because they lack the courage to speak the truth. That review was completely misleading. Regarding the new system, the reviewer failed to mention that this new system was to replace a failed new system that is less than 2 years old that cost the organization a minimum of $25M to build, and over a $1M per month in expenses since launching it to keep staff around to maintain it and work on a new system. $1M per month! And yes I said new system - because the one that was just launched doesn't work so another new system is being built! Now if you want to talk about poor leadership, let's talk about that. I could go on, don't even get me started on some of the other yahoos that have somehow found their way into senior level roles in the company. I feel sorry for some of the great people that are left to deal with the insanity. They really deserve better. PODS could be incredible, however many of those at the top are holding it back due to their own self-interests. I am only saying what the majority there are thinking.

Cons

Nothing to add....not worth my time. Good riddance.

Pros

May be ideal for entry level roles and those with no concept of professionalism you will get a raise (albeit 10 cent) there is always a potluck so you wont go hungry some of the other agents are really good people

Cons

Leadership is a joke in every sense of the word. The leadership team is horrible, they get huge salaries and bonuses to honestly do nothing!!I can't remember the last time the CEO visited the SSC. Some bad apples have been worked out but there is still a bunch more left. We're always hiring because this place is a revolving door. Our HR rep slept with my coworker and then tried to stop him from moving up in the company with his girlfriend... talk about sexual harassment! No one trusts speaking to leadership because of stuff like this. You simply close your mouth, keep the secrets and go on with your 8 hours in fear of you will be next. Its always a scandal around this place and we aren't even on tv! A letter made its way around with some racist comments being made about pregnant people and the Reno HR people magically disappeared and they kept the rep who is actually harassing and sleeping with people....that makes a lot of sense. Who knows the truth?! There was talk about the other rep in HR sleeping with a supervisor. Everybody just sleeps with everybody. There are no career opportunities, you are hired for the position you will stay in unless you sleep your way to the top which may obviously backfire on you. Benefits are horrible and overpriced. If you have an issue they do absolutely nothing to assist. They have recently updated the attendance policy to allow for more realistic expectations but that is selectively followed depending on who you are and who you know. To sum it up,PODS does not follow their own values and you should run in the opposite direction... why do you think they are always hiring... they cant keep good people because good talented people will not deal with this mess and can always find somewhere better to go. You can can make the same amount of money at a company with less stress and drama and who actually practice what they preach. There is an IT issue EVERYDAY!! How sway? We have 150 people in IT. Why aren't things running as they should be?!

Horrible Corporate Culture

Pros

The salary is competitive. Some of the people are nice. Benefits are okay.

Cons

There is a big culture problem. While there is much talk of focusing on customers and employees, when business decisions are made they are almost always made with money in mind. The environment is extremely cut-throat and negative with lots of finger pointing and corporate politics. There is a constant state of panic, even when business is good. It's high stress and high expectations and pretty thankless with little celebration of success. There are some incredibly toxic personalities with small amounts of power that make the lives of others miserable.
