      Better than it used to be but still pretty bad

      lots of access to books and cool literary conversations, camaraderie amongst staff as everyone is allied against the owners

      Cons

      not a safe place to work - employees are constantly made to defend harmless actions - no one trusts the owners to be kind or decent, and with good reason

      Not Great! Pretty terrible, actually!

      Pros

      Coworkers are good people. Decent discount. Beautiful store locations.

      Cons

      Owners are cruel, unrelenting, difficult people. Often would get texts at 8am saying I couldn't take lunch that day because the store would be busy. Saw highers-up treat coworkers terribly. No consistency when it comes to staff schedule, lots of closing/opening shifts back to back. Demanding, nitpicky, micromanaging owners who love to come up with minuscule tasks to keep you on your toes. A culture of constant anxiety that was taking a toll on my mental health.

      You accepted a promotion and still quit with no advance notice. No complaints either. And no, no texts of the sorry ever sent. Passive aggressive much?
