      PRTM: company with "small enterprise" flair, low brand recognition, problematic positioning on the market

      Pros

      Actually I can only find the following reasons: 1) You want to do consulting on R&D 2) You want to do consulting on Supply Chain In most other areas, PRTM is pretty weak

      Cons

      Work/ life balance is problematic, especially on the upper manager/ principal level, because the firm gives you only limited support in doing what you are supposed to do: finding new clients, doing NBD work, getting revenues in. This is the career stage where many people work and work and work without getting anywhere. Only if you have a high-level supporter (Director), you will advance in your career. If not => better leave early and go somewhere else

      Pros

      Very capable consultants that know their stuff, brand is well-liked by its clients. Intellectual foundation is very sound, based on the PACE and SCOR frameworks.

      Cons

      Lacking good exchange of information, lack of belief in actively developing the consultant workforce, appalling internal communciations. Lack of utilization dedicated to business development and IP development

      Good for expanding professional experience, bad for career building

      Some great individuals in the global firm Some good and interesting work coming from non-European offices Shaping some key industries globally Tend to have people back in the home offices on Fridays, if the client work permits

      Cons

      Positionally, still a "wannabe" firm outside of the US high tech world Very bad career management, with career mentoring exists in name only. Non-Director levels serve to generate profit for the Directors. Little throughout from Associate to Director Lack of firm loyalty in its workforce High turnover of junior staff Has had its day as the leading edge thought management generator - that is now seen as a nice to have Although they place great emphasis on having a great work-life balance, it is a consultancy, and you will still be signing away your life from Monday to Friday Training is virtually non-existent Back office support is very thin
