Pros

You'll bulk up your resume quickly, and having a basic training in sales is never a bad thing. If you're introverted, you will definitely be brought, or maybe forced out of your shell. If you like standing on concrete for 8 hours talking to people who wish you weren't there, this is the job for you!

Cons

No work life balance, and awful pay, which is why I ultimately quit. The company had literally 100% (or all but) turnover in its first year. Andy opened Pace Events in 2014, and he was the only person still there a year later. Everyone else had been cycled in and out over the course of the year. The reason people leave is stress and bad pay. I was working 70-80+ hours/week in total, being paid for ~40 of them (the rest of the time was "off the schedule," but was work I had to do with my team. Breaking down days, one on ones, that sort of thing), and was still unable to pay my bills. Andy cares more about driving sales than building people, which is why he has promoted one person into management. To give you an idea, other Smart Circle subsidiaries typically promote 2 people into management within 6 months. Andy got one person there in over a year, and lost countless quality people in the process. Look up Smart Circle before you apply for a job here, it's one of their road show "offices." There's also no benefits, no paid time off, minimal requested time off (good luck if you want to go home for the holidays, have a trip planned, get sick, etc.). I'm honestly floored this business is still running.

Pros

I was in desperate need for a job when I first start applying for open positions in the Louisville area but of course I still needed a job that gave me finical stability as well as the hours to provide for my family. I wanted a regular 9-5 full time position that paid well over minimum wage. I don't know if everyone has heard of zip recruit but if you haven't you need to. It is a click-apply website which I loved because for the 55 jobs that I applied for I didn't have to keep re-typing all my information, any way this website connects directly to the employers so when you apply they either call you that day or the following day after reviewing what you wrote about yourself. Needless to say I interviewed for over 20 jobs got call backs for 15 jobs and excepted 5 basically giving all the companies some time to snatch me up before the other one did. Pace Events was one of three who called me back for a second round interview and this process was within a couple days which Ii have to say was a blessing because I needed a job! I was hired within that week, I went to training which they paid for travel and hotel for me. I returned back to Louisville and immediately started my job. I get paid on time it covers my bills and the people there especially the owner Andrew Pickering is one of the most understanding people I have ever met. I absolutely used to dread getting up in the morning but now I know that when I walk into work as long as I am doing what I am supposed to I have job security.

Cons

Of course this is not really a con but I would love for the management advancement to be faster then 6 months but hey you have to start some where and at this rate I will be there in no time.
